I think there is a difference between criticizing that players have not been paid by a club and personal stuff like the tax evasion.

Both situations involve money not being given to a party that is owed it..............can't see much difference tbh

Because there isn't. Doesn't matter if Hoeness did it on his own accord or on behalf of Bayern. The fact is he was doing it and still had a cheek to criticize other clubs.

The point isn't whether what he says is true or not... the point is that it's the height of hypocrisy to comment and/or judge the actions of others when you're the guiltiest of them all.

Hoeneß is and always has been a pathological hypocrite. Now that he is caught with his shorts down, I wonder what he'll muster to point fingers at similar situations while he was caught napping evading taxes.

At least his brother Dieter remains resolute in his decelerations no matter how absurd.

Considering it's a french source and every German outlet is reporting 3 and a half years.... simply put yes.

No, 5 years 6 months were demanded by the prosecutor, the judge decided on 3 years 6 months. In Germany every sentence over 2 years means actual jail time and no probation, btw.

Yeah... they said 5 years and 6 months asked by the prosecution. But the sentence ended up being 3,5 years of prison... my bad. The article wasn't very clear.

By the way, 3 years 6 months prison usually means that he will have to spend 2 years and 2 months under good conduct.

And yeah, now he can't stay Bayern's president, as that would get them into trouble with Adidas, Audi, Allianz etc.

Probably he'll appeal for another few years through all instances and then plead unfitness for detention based on high blood pressure.
