Spurs will be the biggest spenders in the league if this comes through and they didn't even get the 4th place trophy, lol makes Arsenal look so pathetic.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
Actually Sandro has recovered quicker than expected. He played 30 minutes against Espanyol in the final friendly before the season started, and has recently played a full U-21 game apparently.sportsczy wrote:
Sandro is out until at least Nov/Dec. Replace him with Capoue. Capoue will eventually become a CB imo.
Also remember that Chadli is good too as a forward.
He's not going to be starting in the immediate future, but he should be getting minutes in September and he could probably be starting by October I'm guessing. In the meantime Capoue is a beast and is available. Whether Capoue will play a CB depends on injuries, it looks like Spurs are still after Chiriches.
On Coentrao: Apparently he's not coming the other way. Too bad really.

If not Coentrao, can Chichiris play on the left?

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
I'd be very surprised if Spurs put Verts at LB permanently. He plays a lot better at CB, although he's a good LB too.
Idk if Chiriches can play there. Recent interest could be all papers tbh. I remember Spurs were interested in him at the beginning of August and a deal was in place but only to be done AFTER Steau's games near the end of the month. Papers could just be reviving it since it's near that time and Spurs are spending big atm.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
This is what the latest Di Marzio's reported.I havent read about them reaching agreement already with Roma. But i suppose in the end they will ,probably.Di Marzio wrote:Erik Lamela at Tottenham, we continue to negotiate. Yesterday there was a meeting in London between Rome and the British company, even if the agreement had not been reached. The Spurs have put into the pot 30 million, the Giallorossi are asking for 35. In today's day, however, the Argentine agents flew to Madrid to speak with Franco Baldini, technical director of Tottenham. The British are in Spain to close the transfer of Bale to Real Madrid. And the opportunity may be the right also to talk about Lamela. This evening will be officially presented at the Olimpico Rome in front of his fans. London calling for Lamela ...

This is a picture of what Lamela's girlfriend said about his presentation in the Stadio Olimpico.
It means "What a great farce"
Which says it all...
Deal is closer than ever.

Arq, Lamela being under the guidance of AVB is the best thing for him, let's be honest. You saw what AVB did to Bale.
Lamela will become world class under AVB.

Di Marzio wrote:The Duvan Zapata mystery may have finally been solved. The negotiation between Napoli and Estudiantes is completed, the two clubs reached an agreement. Napoli is now talking to Sassuolo, to avoid that the black and green club deposit their documents for the player. The signals are positive, they will however need two or three days to resolve all the details between Sassuolo and the Argentine club. Napoli and Estudiantes have an agreement, and Napoli is organizing the medical. Duvan Zapata is waiting.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
Spanish newspapers are saying that any team that activates Kondogbia's €20mil release clause will also have to pay an additional €11mil for tax purposes.
No idea how true that is but it might explain why he's still there.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
His is a confusing case. I finally figured it out a week back Sevilla only own 30% of him. 70% is owned by a 3rd party that lent Sevilla money... they used Kondogbia as collateral. So even though the release clause is 20 mil, Sevilla only gets 6 mil.GoonerJay29 wrote:Spanish newspapers are saying that any team that activates Kondogbia's €20mil release clause will also have to pay an additional €11mil for tax purposes.

And, yes, if you trigger the release clause you need to pay the taxes as well. 11 mil sounds about right as you only pay taxes on the net of what you paid for the player and what you sold him for.
This is also a reason why EPL clubs are going to have a hard time getting Kondogbia... 3rd party issues.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
can i see the link? because it sounds unrealistic. VAT is 21.5% of the release clause. for example, we paid close to 7 millions VAT for Illarra who had a 30 mil release clause.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. XI
Depending on if it's a hostile bid (current club needs to file paperwork saying such) or if it's amicable where, the release clause and VAT is paid, but no additional filing is made... the taxes are different. In the hostile scenario, you pay additional taxes as Bayern did for Martinez. I think the player needs to do it in a hostile scenario, which is why Bayern had to lend Martinez the money and he then triggered the clause.Mr Nick09 wrote:can i see the link? because it sounds unrealistic. true, my understanding of that stuff gets better everyday. it's true that there is another tax that's close to 56% iirc, would make sense then.

If this is real we would've probably accepted it more or less if the money was right (which 10m isn't) and if Coates didn't go down with ACL injury. Now it's almost impossible to get Skrtel.Yohan Modric wrote:Liverpool reject a bid of around £10m for Skrtel from Napoli, according to BBC.

I believe Rodgers had decided that Skrtel was not for sale a week or two before Coates's injury.McAgger wrote:If this is real we would've probably accepted it more or less if the money was right (which 10m isn't) and if Coates didn't go down with ACL injury.
