Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Shame really. For the first time in a long time, it looked like Spurs had built a solid squad with all there summer signings only to lose Bale now
Btw, if Bale goes for almost as much as Ronaldo did lol

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values Real Madrid target Gareth Bale, 24, at a "staggering" £125m.

There's no players involved in the transfer. Bale knows about the offer and he's becoming frustrated with the situation.
Spurs want to keep Bale.
What's with trying to make him the biggest transfer of all time? Why not offer 60 or 70 and see what happens?
Yohan Modric wrote:Yeh, not sure why the opening bid is 85m. Should try 50-60 and see what Spurs say.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
This isn't FM guys. It's pretty obvious that the two parties have discussed valuation "unofficially" speaking so Madrid already have a clear idea what Spurs want.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
You can't take the galactico out of Flo Perez... it's an uncurable disease. We're buying a guy who doesn't fit anywhere, so we're going to have to push several players out of position or play him out of position.
To boot, we're breaking that transfer record on Bale. Think of that for a second
We deserve every bit of trolling that comes our way on this. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I'm disappointed in Levy, every time he shows a little bit of backbone and integrity he starts licking boots.

If the market was tarnished before, this is going to absolutely liquidate it
"But Bale went for £100 million, so player X should go for £200 million!"

We're making Bale the most overrated player in history, seriously

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
World record transfer fee for a guy who wont even be in the Top 10 of the Ballon D'or shortlist
Makes Cavani's PSG transfer look like a bargain.
I can see it broken soon though with these amazing French teams with enormous 'prestige' breaking the record for Cristiano.

I did and, based on performance, I'd say he's worth £25-£30 million (and I'm being generous) £100 million? You could buy your own jumbo jet with that doughZealous wrote:Damn I'm actually starting to wonder how many of you actually watch Bale week in week out last season lol

Bale is amazing.(I'm a Bale fan). But if you're seriously going to defend that (reported) price then you should stop this discussion altogether.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
I watched a lot of Bale because i was curious about Lloris. He's worth probably 40-50 mil just because of his age and you need to add in hype. Very good at the things he does. But is he worth more than Falcao, Cavani, Neymar, etc.? It's insane.
Absolutely ludicrous what Flo is going to pay for him. Bale was a difference maker for a team who finished 5th in the EPL... did he set any record? No. Did he blow people's socks off? No. Ballon d'or podium guaranteed? No. Top 10 player in the world? No.
I mean ffs. Get a grip Flo!
This has flop written all over it regardless of price from a footy standpoint as well. He shoots as much as CR7 and needs the ball as much as him too... and he won't get that at Madrid. Not even close.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
I think Perez believes a transfer like this will re-establish Madrid at the top of the table. It won't. He's an absolute dunderhead.
I wonder what Ancelotti thinks of this.

I guess he hasn't a choice and can't complain about it. He knew the situation at RM before he agreed to go there.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Actually Ancelotti has been a puppet at all clubs he's managed. Its nothing new.
Although ,i remember reading that at PSG he wanted more power in regards to the transfer market but he dint get that apparently.
If Carlo had the power ,he would do his entire shopping in Serie A but i guess at Madrid you have to earn it unless you're Mourinho.
