Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Actually Ancelotti has been a puppet at all clubs he's managed. Its nothing new.
Although ,i remember reading that at PSG he wanted more power in regards to the transfer market but he dint get that apparently.
If Carlo had the power ,he would do his entire shopping in Serie A but i guess at Madrid you have to earn it unless you're Mourinho.

Ancelotti says he has no intention of pursuing the big-money capture of Spurs winger Bale.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
He is worth £35 to £45 million at most. Even at that price you are paying a generous fee considering he is likely to flop. He hasn't proved or shown enough that he will be a guaranteed success whatever the signing fee is. He isn't even a "galatico" compared to the status and abiltiies of the ronaldos, kaka, zidane, beckham etc.
Also RM don't even need his position covered. Better off spending less on a striker and actually improving the team more.
Levy is a genius.

That doesn't prove much lol
And Benzema getting benched is sadly nothing new or something he isn't already used to.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
With Higuain getting sold I'm sure he's thinking he's got that spot to himself now. He should be given a chance. Bale scored around 21 goals in the league last year and Benzema can certainly do better.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Sky Sports understands Southampton could miss out on around £11million if Gareth Bale is sold to Real Madrid.
When they sold Bale to Tottenham in 2007, they inserted a sell-on clause believed to be 15% of any future transfer fee.
However, when they found themselves in financial difficulty, Southampton waived that clause and agreed to receive around £1.5million plus Spurs youth keeper Tommy Forecast.
Forecast never made an appearance for Southampton and is currently without a club.
Saints can still expect a small percentage of a Bale sale to cover training costs - that figure is thought to be around two and a half per cent.
However, a potential sale that could have netted Southampton £13million will instead only yield around £2million.

What are the chances of United buying a so called "flop" in the name of Gareth Bale sometime around this time next year from a team called Real Madrid? :X

I'm sure Higuain was thinking he had the spot to himself before Benzema came lol. Benzema has been here for a while now and it's time to put up or shut up for him. After this season he's going to ask for a bigger contract and I honestly don't think he's going to get one so in all likelihood he's going to be sold unless he has a world class season.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
From what I understand he's gone if we get Bale. That's perhaps the silver lining of the whole ordeal for me. We get a good player who will compliment Ronaldo relatively well. And a guy whose selfless approach to football deserves so much more than what he's gotten here, gets to look for it somewhere else.
Only problem is it's costing us 40 million more than it should

Yeah we're overpaying that is something we can all agree on.
However I don't agree with your romantic view of Benzema lol. I hope he has a great season though.

How could anyone deny this talent. He is not worth 85 mill though.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
That last video is unreal, the commentary just adds to his brilliance. Look at the sheer quality of the goals, reminds me of Torres' 07-08 season, no tap ins or pens.
If I'm building a new team the only players I'm taking over him atm are CR and Messi. Maybe Neymar.

Does anyone actually deny his talent though, or it it just not getting swept away with Sky Sports hype machine?

That volley against Stoke a couple of years ago still remains my favourite goal of the last 10 years. Very few players could pull it off.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
It is Sky Sports' understanding that Gareth Bale has reiterated his desire to leave to Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas. Publicly, Spurs' stance hasn't changed. Bale is not for sale as far as they are concerned.

Has Bale submitted a transfer request, or is he hoping Spurs sell him and he doesn't surrender his cut?

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Im sorry but any one who thinks Bale is worth only 25-40 mill on todays market is living in early 2000's. Just like prices for almost all the things in the world has gone up except currencies of third world countries the transfer value of each player has gone up.
Higuain goes for 40,Soldado for 32,Negredo for 30, Falcao for 60, Cavani for 66 mill,Neymar for 60,Suarez value at 60. etc...just shows that the high fee is not a unusal one off incident and the market is def is inflated which many fails to understand..
Madrid are sure overpaying in this deal,no doubt about that but if you think 2 times PFA player of the year is going for 40 mill in todays market you need a reality check.

There's no players involved in the transfer. Bale knows about the offer and he's becoming frustrated with the situation.
Spurs want to keep Bale.
What's with trying to make him the biggest transfer of all time? Why not offer 60 or 70 and see what happens?Yohan Modric wrote:Yeh, not sure why the opening bid is 85m. Should try 50-60 and see what Spurs say.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
This isn't FM guys. It's pretty obvious that the two parties have discussed valuation "unofficially" speaking so Madrid already have a clear idea what Spurs want.
Yeah but we shouldn't of agreed to any of their ridiculous evaluations for him, put in a generous bid, and then wait for the transfer request/Bale forcing his way out and get him for a cut price ..
Btw, how will Cristiano handle someone in the same locker room being 'worth' more? I don't think it will sit too well with him, he probably has a hard time being second to Messi, being 'second in the locker room' may lead him to the mental asylum

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Cavani, Falcao, Soldado, Higuain and Negredo have better goal records than Bale.
Bale is just hyped up too much currently. Also Bale isn't really a winger, just in case there was an argument of 'he scores goals as a winger' when compared to those strikers.
