On a side note di vaio was a Roma killer a couple seasons ago. I remember a couple of big late goals against us he scored.

He was a top 10 guy in Italy when he left all he needs is a chance benatia looks like a classic out there.

Well that was fun. Never heard commentators praise us like that before.

So the man of the match went to Florenzi after bagging a goal. Great displays from Bradley, Strootman and Totti. Our midfield did well and pressured the opposition when off the ball.

I actually preferred Totti out wide on the left in the first half rather than as a "false 9" in the second half, though the whole team did take their foot off the gas at that point.

All in all, we can't look too much into this match, after all we played against a team that was literally made over night. The main thing to take away from this match is our athletic preparation which seems to be on the right track. If the MLS demands one thing, then that is top notch physical conditioning and we matched up pretty well in that respect.

As for Di Vaio, again, you can't judge any of those guys from this game because that makes no sense whatsoever. He wasn't supplied at all. I could assure you, having watched him closely over the past year, he still has the same ability he did back in Italy and is one of the most intelligent players in the league, if not the most intelligent.

Good all around display from just about everyone. Really unfortunate Lamela picked up an injury. He would've run this MLS side ragged honestly.

Florenzi ffs Proud....kid could not be stopped all night. He's gotta be in this squad as a starter somewhere.

Great experience in Toronto. Got to meet a bunch of players that I didn't see last year (De Rossi, Borriello, Torosidis, Taddei, Florenzi, Balzaretti) and quite a bit of staff. I even had a 10 minute conversation with Taddei over coffee.

Nice atmosphere at the practice and the game, especially when Totti got up to stretch and subbed on. Great performances from Maicon, Jedvaj, Pjanic and Florenzi, while Burdisso seemed quite out of form.

It was interesting to see Garcia mix up the cards a bit. We started off with a 4-2-3-1 on paper but it seemed like a 4-3-3, with Taddei in front of the defence along side Bradley, Florenzi slightly pushed up and Marquinho wide on the right. Then, after Marquinho's injury, Florenzi was pushed to the wing with Pjanic back in midfield. This was really the turning point, as Pjanic brought in that bit of creativity and passing ability that we were missing at the start.

Goals from Borriello, Florenzi and a brace from Pjanic topped off a good showing against one of the worst teams in the world. Speaking of TFC, they earned themselves a nice "f*** you" from all Roma fans after bringing out a f***** EAGLE before the match. Not everyone noticed, but those who did were disgusted.

hmm I think Roma game Vs Chelsea will determine how good or bad is their form and new signing and Rudi Garcia , games against MLS or Toronto can barely gives any positive other than physical condition or confidence . more of a latter that i dont see how can a player playing for Roma gain confidence from beating Toronto FC

Toronto was a great experience. It helped that we outclassed them in every aspect all day I got a bit nervous after burdisso tried to throw the game go join Mauri in jail.

Other then that the practice session After with most of our young players was awesome. I really wanted to see caprari get a chance he looked stellar out there with balzaretti feeding him the ball.

Tallo looked bad crescenzi has work to do our third choice goalie sved looks better then de Sanctis.

Overall great time good to see Totti get in and get a huge ovation.

Borriello still has a place IMO. Sell osvaldo to Wolfsburg and sell DDR mid season when he gets some form back

/ end cellphone ramblings

We will never sell DDR and who would replace Osvaldo?

Would we brake the bank and sign Damiao or Ganso? We would end up with Boriello or Gervinho starting, which would be awful..

I honestly think, an on form DDR + Strootman and Bradly in the midfield is amazing. Thought they played very well today and kept us at bay for most of the game.

He has always played good, and has been by far our most consistent player, but Garcia is finally allowing him to press more near the final third instead of how he was forced to always defend positionally last season. Now he has the option to force a player out wide or into a neutral position to let the defense take it's preferred shape, but when he's allowed to square up on a defender he hardly if ever loses his one on one battle. Even on the first goal by Lampard he did his job, got a touch on the ball and disrupted possession, but the next defender over played Lampard and went for the glory play instead of staying on his mark.

We always hoped he would take his game to another level by going to Roma, and everytime he has been asked to take on another responsibility he has come up aces.
