Roma tour Chicago, NYC and Boston

Roma will visit Chicago, Boston and New York in July’s tour of the U.S., including a friendly against Liverpool, announced the club.

The Giallorossi will play in Chicago on Sunday July 22 and New York on Monday July 28, but the opponents are yet to be decided.

We do know there is a fixture on Wednesday July 25 against Liverpool at Boston’s Fenway Park.

“As an ownership group, we have made growing the Roma brand in the U.S. one of our top priorities and this is a big step in the right direction,” said James Pallotta, Chief Executive of AS Roma Holdings.

“I cannot think of a bigger stage for Roma to play on than Fenway Park, in my hometown, in what is hopefully just the beginning of an on-going derby between these two great teams.”

Liverpool are owned by Fenway Sports Group, who have several shareholders at the helm of Roma. The same company owns the Boston Red Sox, who play at Fenway Park.

Roma will play Liverpool in a friendly at Fenway Park on July 25, as both clubs are owned by Boston investors.

Giallorossi majority shareholder Thomas Di Benedetto is also part-owner of the Fenway Sports Group, the parent company of both Liverpool and Boston Red Sox.

“During its 100-year history, Fenway Park has hosted some of the best in athletic competition,” said Fenway Sports Group’s principal owner John Henry.

“A match between Liverpool and AS Roma – two of the world's most well-known and respected clubs – is an appropriate way to help celebrate Fenway's 100th anniversary and showcase our ballpark to an international audience.”

Both Roma and Liverpool are set for summer tours of North America.

I already posted this in the Liverpool section. I'm looking for info about the game at Fenway on July 25th. I want to buy tickets, which officially go on sale this Saturday, but I'm having trouble finding which site I should buy through. Any help would be really appreciated.

Good gawd that match in Chicago will be played at Wrigley Field FFS. Was hoping for Toyota Park or even Solder Field, but I didn't see that coming lol

Roma have confirmed the list of players they will be taking on the US leg of their pre-season preparations.

New signings Dodo, Michael Bradley and Panagiotis Tachtsidis, whose transfer to the capital was only confirmed this evening, are all included.

The Giallorossi depart for North America on July 20 and will play in three arranged fixtures, against Polish side Zaglebie Lubin in Chicago on July 22, Liverpool in Boston on July 25 and against the El Salvador national team in New Jersey on July 27.

Roma are owned by a consortium fronted by American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto, who has more than once spoken of taking the club’s brand abroad.

The Giallorossi will also be back in the US during the mid-season winter break, training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

I was supposed to be in Chicago for the game at Wrigley Field, but had to pull out in a couple of weeks ago.

I'm targeting a trip to Orlando in the winter as my next opportunity.
