It's free spending Chelsea and in the current market when you look at the prices other top forwards are selling for it's not unreasonable. If 40m is offered, I wouldn't be mad at all for selling to Chelsea, even though I think he would be devastating for them.

Agree with Gil here actually

He's been on decline for a while

He constantly moans

He doesn't take care of himself

He is on a stupid wage

40M to buy him + a 4 year contract sets you back about £88,000,000

Even if you're minted that's a disgusting 'investment'

Manchester United have launched a £15million bid for unsettled Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye, writes the Sunday People.

The champions are hoping to pip big-spending Paris St Germain and Monaco, who are both keen to take the French ace back home.

Gonzalo Higuain and Napoli. HIs arrival is not impossible. Seen the difficulties in acquiring Leandro Damiao, Napoli has restarted their contacts with Real Madrid for the Argentine striker. In the last few days, Napoli had already spoken to Higuain’s father. There appears to be a chance the deal could happen, but the main hurdles are the player’s wages and the situation tied to his marketing rights.

You do not sign Damiao, you can only talk about signing Damiao

Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VII - Page 36 Empty Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VII

Post by Vlad the Impaler Sun Jul 21, 2013 9:38 am

Eurosport.com wrote:It's all over at Old Trafford for Rooney: The Sunday Times's lead sport story (apart from golf, cricket and cycling, of course) is that Wayne Rooney is close to agreeing a move to Chelsea after coming to the inescapable conclusion that his time is up at Manchester United.

"The striker is determined to leave Manchester United despite an attempt by David Moyes to persuade him to stay," the paper reports. "The United manager has held talks with Rooney, seeking to assure him that remarks suggesting the striker figures in his plans merely as a back-up to Robin van Persie were misinterpreted. Moyes also reiterated his determination to block Rooney’s exit.

"While the talks were amicable, the striker’s desire to quit United has only hardened in recent days. He is understood to be more upset by the statement from Ed Woodward, United’s chief executive, that the club have no plans to discuss an extension to his contract, than anything Moyes has said. Rooney also feels that after nine seasons and 197 goals with United, he has reached a natural end at Old Trafford."

Paper round's view: This is the strongest sign so far that Rooney is indeed leaving, from a reputable paper with a good track record in investigative journalism. Rooney's choice seems simple: stay at United as an under-used and unappreciated number two, or head to Chelsea and revitalise his career under arguably the most exciting manager in world football.

What the hell is this? Laughing

And this...

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani expects Keisuke Honda to join the Serie A giants in January when his contract with CSKA Moscow expires.

The Japan international is keen to link up with the Rossoneri this summer but CSKA's high asking price for the 27-year-old has now put the transfer on hold for at least the next five months.

Galliani told reporters that unless Milan can raise funds from external sources, the club will pursue Honda when he becomes a free agent.

"Honda's contract expires on December 31st and he can open up negotiations with other clubs, like us. I think he will arrive in January," said Galliani.

"I don't think he will arrive now unless some sponsor allows the move to take place.

"His price tag and his wages are just too high but if an external source were to intervene, then it could happen."

Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VII - Page 36 Empty Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VII

Post by M99 Sun Jul 21, 2013 1:27 pm

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that goalkeeper Pepe Reina is set to join Napoli on a season-long loan because of "financial" reasons.

Goal reported this week that the Serie A side had turned their attention to the Spain international after growing impatient at Julio Cesar's reluctance to accept their contract offer.

And Rodgers has now confirmed that Reina will leave Liverpool this summer, as the club cannot justify his wages following the €10 million signing of Simon Mignolet from Sunderland in June.

"Financially it is something we needed to look at," Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.

"That would be the reason because obviously you wouldn’t move on a top goalkeeper.

"It reared its head over the last few months and I had to prepare for it by bringing in a new goalkeeper.

"Pepe is a good guy. I’ve a lot of time for him, and he understands what I want to do totally.

"He’s got a big season ahead because it’s a World Cup year and one where, if he wasn’t going to be playing, could severely harm his chances of going."

Reina, who has three years remaining on his €128,000-a-week contract at Anfield, will be reunited with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez at Napoli.

The Spanish coach has already signed young goalkeeper Rafael from Santos for €5m earlier in July but wants a battle-hardened No.1 for the new campaign, and one who can also guide the 22-year-old Brazilian.

Verratti's agent :
“He wants to stay in Paris and be treated like all the other players,” agent Donato Di Campli told Le10Sport in France.

“Of course, if he were to leave, then he’d be spoilt for choice. Clubs are lining up ready to pay any sum in order to sign him.”
