Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread Pt.2
Some very harsh criticism here.
Why in the world was Aquilani being criticized when he was one of our best midfielders on the pitch? When he came on, our team opened up, his passes were in the right places & his defence was good bar one foul.
How is SES not ready for Italia? What about his France performance were he was our best player? Malta? His excellent brief appearances v Haiti & v Brazil where he created 2 chances?
Why criticism of today? Italia played a counter-attacking formation to which did not suit him, provide him touches and kept him channelled out of position. When he was on the ball he bypassed Cacares, Rios & Godin within 20 minutes and created TWO deft chance to which was spoiled by Gilardino.
Even slotted his penalty with calm ease.
Keep in mind he has just recovered from injury and had his first start for Italia in a long while so his inertia developed is rather difficult to get out of. He is ready for Italia as guys like him, Candreva etc make us play better.

My god this game is just a massive Goallegacy jinxfest
Fred is trash = GOAT striker
Nerman overrated = GOAT player
Spain plays better without Xabi = Spain are defensively trash without Xabi
Pls VDB bench Pedro. Trash player, Navas should have started tbh.
Pedro and Arbeloa has less than a 70% pass ratio. Worst flank ever

Mole is right
They need a base of Martinez-Busquets with Cesc ahead.

Alonso is the most important player in the team after Xavi, along with Ramos and Casillas IMO.

Its not over, but this has been one of the most amazing halfs of football I have seen since....EVAR.

Re: The Official Confederations Cup thread Pt.2
That's what you get for starting Torres instead of Soldado
It's definitely over now though the first half didn't impress me so much though, too one-sided..Betty La Fea wrote:Its not over, but this has been one of the most amazing halfs of football I have seen since....EVAR.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Again your bringing up history.... history has no relevance.
I'm talking about this tournament.... both Nigeria and Italy had more than enough chances to beat them.
This wasn't happening before, teams wasn't even getting sniffs on goal, they are more beatable now than at any stage in last 6 years.
People are just looking at results and forgetting how many chances they have gave away this tournament.... teams are not going to keep missing for ever.
Italy had over 20 attempts on goal in the Semi.... when was the last time a Spain team gave away this many chances?
You are ignoring what is right in front of your eyes, if Italy won the semi no one would have batted an eyelid.
I tried to warn you all

Yea haha really hurts to be a Spain fan tonight (talking about me as well). Brazil were brilliant, they keep pressing and are much more clinical. Spain should go with a double pivot. Also we do not have clinical finishers anymore

I have to also say, Julio Caesar has been more than impressive and that clearance by David Luiz is GOAT
