What a brilliant movie. The Cliffhanger in the end
really was entertaining from the 1st minute to the last
8.8/10
you are too generous with your ratings.
I liked it as well but 8.8 is what we give to some of the eternal movies.

My father wants to watch The Wolf Of Wall Street with me. After reading the IMDB Parents Guide, there is no way in hell I am going to do that

HOLY MOTHER of PERFECTION!! just watched 'Her'
Such a deep movie on so many levels. Blew me away, unbelievable piece of art. The acting is just extraordinary, the way they convey such deep emotions often with just their voices. Scarlett Johansson delivers the performance of a lifetime, pity since it's only a voice role I don't think she's eligible for any awards, because I think she'd sweep the floor if she was. Joaquin Phoenix is out of this world, I'm sure he'll be nominated for an Oscar. Amy Adams Olivia Wilde Rooney Mara , the cast is just unbelievable. The movie, though, is definitely not for everyone I would think. It raises questions about relationships, human nature, loneliness and vulnerability, so the action lovers might be blind to the beauty of this original score.
For the rest of you though I'd say MUST watch.
9.5/10

I also want to watch it alone. When it finally hits the theatres over here I would like my mom to take me and pay for me. But I have to watch it alone. She can come pick me up again.M99 wrote:My father wants to watch The Wolf Of Wall Street with me. After reading the IMDB Parents Guide, there is no way in hell I am going to do that
I wonder if they'll allow me in to watch it because I'll only be 17.

Haven't seen it yet but I really want to watch it sometime soon (probably next weekend). I think it looks very interesting and it's exactly the type of movie I would love. Also, I'm a fan of Joaquin Phoenix, and though I forgot him, I would add him to my list of underrated actors in that actor/actress thread of yours.
Just got done watching 12 Years a Slave. Very good movie, I would give it a 9/10. For a couple reasons, it my experience was slightly off, but the story and the storytelling was fantastic. Chiwetel was amazing and should probably win best actor. A compelling story and one of the best movies I've watched this year. However, it didn't quite reach the grand expectations I had for it. I'm guessing it's because I read too many things praising it, and I was expecting something groundbreaking.
Quite an amazing movie though.
So many movies to see. Wolf of Wall Street, Captain Philips, Lone Survivor, American Hustle, Out of the Furnace looks dece too, Saving Mr. Banks because Tom Hanks , as mentioned, Her is one I would like to see. I'd love to see Blue is the Warmest Colour, too. On the subject of Blue, I have yet to see Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
Watched half of Don Jon with a woman last night and would like to finish the other half too.
I don't have time for this Semester exams right around the corner and all of these films to watch

I started watching it 5 days ago and haven't got back to it since lol. Lack of time. I can't wait to resume though. Your post makes me look forward to it more now.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
Just finished watching Captain Phillips. What a thriller! A simple plot with phenomenal acting. That Somali guy, Muse, he puts in a brilliant performance. The director did a brilliant job. The intensity and suspense at the end is so strong, you literally hold your breath for seconds and then you realise you have to breath because this suspense ain't stopping it just goes on. A must see movie.
- Spoiler:
- Tom Hanks puts in one of the best acting I've seen right at the end when he is taken from the lifeboat onto the Navy ship and assessed by the nurse. That was absolutely f*cking brilliant, I almost shed a few tears at that moment.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
^rightfully deserved as well. The scene between him and Dicaprio at the restuarant had me howling with laughter.
The Wolf of Wall St is fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen a movie have so much sex scenes, so much drug taking, so much swear words as much as that movie had.
Dicaprio and Jonah Hill had a brilliant chemistry. Great performances all round. So many hilarious and memorable scenes. Another Scorsese classic. 9.5/10
Captain Phillips is another great movie too. Felt very authentic. Somali pirates are no joke, and the way the movie depicted that world seemed genuine. Tom Hanks puts in a stellar performance as always. 8/10

12 Years A Slave; This film is effing brutal to watch, some scenes are extremely graphic and just makes you question how evil people were back then towards slaves. Very powerful and moving.
9/10.

Michael Douglas to play Hank Pym, guaranteeing that Ant Man is about Scott Lang
I'm legitimately pissed off about this, I need a hug or something, FML.

I'm with you. But look on the (semi) bright side... at least this means they aren't writing Pym out of the cinematic universe all together as was suggested earlier on.

Who
This is slowly turning into Batman vs. Superman in terms of poor casting choices. Next you'll tell me Wasp isn't going to be in the new Marvel Universe at all

Tarantino and Cristoph Waltz the new Scorsese-Dicaprio?
I wouldn't mind it. I've absolutely loved Cristoph Waltz in the last two Tarantino movies and I'm for anything that keeps him coming back to the big screen, because I really enjoy watching him. I like Tarantino quite a bit, too.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
Anyone ever wrote a movie script?
I've had some ideas for a while, and always had a love for writing that I never fully indulged. Me and a friend are going to try our hand at some in our spare time. After I do some homework and stuff regarding structure. Just for fun. Just wondering if anybody else did so?

I've done a lot of free lance work for a local film school in the area Full Sail, but nothing beyond that and "Original" reality programming when I worked at the Golf Channel.
