Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Bellingham salvaged that ball after having the ball played behind him. Saka couldn't even do that right

Didn't even participate in the QF. Scored a brace which was one short of the top scorer at the Euros.BarcaLearning wrote:Just to throw it in, so has Vinis failed Copa been discussed yet?
Vini plays for a terrible Brazil team where everyone plays in their own bubble thinking they are it
Will run rings around players again for RM.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Vini performs on the highest absolute level (Champions League) by far. Who tf cares if he didn't perform for internationals (Copa isnt elite football by any chance) in a broken ass Brasil team

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
England has the most stacked team on earth arguably more than France
Saka went for a jog and came back home. Absolutely useless.
Funny that Vini finished the Copa with more goals/assists than everyone in the England squad not named Kane/Jude. Wad robbed of a penalty against Colombia and didn't get to play the QF.

Saka has not proven himself a Champions League star nowhere near.
Vini's record speaks for itself.
This thread has now turn into a running roast thread for a reason.

Once again, try to get past the CL quarterfinal first before hyping your boy up for the Ballon d'Or.

lol so now stats are meaningless, cool story
a whole thread of evidence on why Saka is on the same level as Vini, and haters continue living in denial

Messi was not considered good enough because he fell short with NT trophy-wise and now NT doesnt matter when Messi won everything, Vinicius sucks ass for Brazil and fakes injuries for NT breaks and Mbappe doesnt even show up to France camp because he does not feel like it.El Gunner wrote:lol so now stats are meaningless, cool story

Remember when Messi was missing decisive penalties for Argentina and quit the NT like every NT break.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
I don't really watch Arsenal too much so can't comment too much on Saka or on the context around his numbers and play but based on several stats I've seen on DataMB and Squawka the numbers between the two are pretty comparable on the attacking front, on the defensive front it leans more towards Saka but it should also be said that comparing last season's stats between both is not a 1:1 endeavor.
Saka played more than 1200 more minutes than Vinicius and they didn't even play the same roles with the same tactical duties. Vinicius is indulged more but he can put in a defensive shift when needed.
Vinicius was elite with Madrid and key in winning the double. He scored in the CL final and raped Bayern for crying out loud.
Analyzing and nit picking stats can only go so far for the schizo cucks who want to try to deny Vini somehow.
Balon d'Or is first and foremost bullshit, bias, and PR, rationalized upon trophies and... finally performance, with an emphasis on highlighting the achievements and contributions by forwards. Always has been.
Vinicius Jr is a deserved winner, for better and for worse.
It doesn't matter what you or I think, Vini will win and it will be glorious.
Also, that stats bomb guy is an Arsenal fan if I remember correctly from a Managing Madrid podcast episode I've seen with him as a guest, he's bound to be particularly bias in his little thread.
As for the comparison with Saka in itself, interesting thing about Vini is that he doesn't play within himself, and at the same time I think that deep down he doesn't have a divaesque reluctance towards defensive team play ala CR7 or Hazard...
there's a lot of things like being more neat and tidy, connective and efficient, and defensive minded that for Vini would require more of a mindset change than anything else, brought upon by petition of the manager/club. Being more within himself. Don't know if Saka could catch up to Vinicius' ceiling when it comes to those more innate talent based dribbling and attacking metrics that Vini beats him out at as per the DataMB matrices, for example. A lot of that chaotic aggression by Vini also helps move things forward in ways that may not always necessarily be reflected well by stats.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
not trying to take away from Vini's incoming Balon Dor win, like you said, i really couldn't care less because of the criteria you mentioned...
i just genuinely think, impact-wise (impact on their team's success), Saka is on the same level as Vini... Vini is better at some stuff, and Saka is better at other stuff
and i just wish we had a centralised site such as Whoscored who could compile an ultimate rankings list of all players around the world based on their ratings system that gets automatically updated after each game (i mean how hard could that be?).
I know football remains an art, and beauty remains the eye of the beholder, because we all value different things through our eyes. But some things are just more obvious than others, and i think a dataset program can bring that sort of objective anchor when it comes to discussing who is the best player in the world currently, and who it the top 10, and who is better than who.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Reposting this gem, as it best sums up the comparison! But to EG, it still is a debate! Is there anyone besides EG, that thinks the comparison is open to debate?
