Fellaini deal (£22m fee, £100k wages on-year deal) would equate to £43m. Can't see it.

On the other hand, #AFC paid £12m & £100k wages for Podolski last summer, before the puma/new tv deal. So it's still very possible

Those numbers make me hesitant too. I think Fellaini is a very good player and that if Wenger has deliberated enough to decide he's worth getting & fitting into the squad, then I'm happy to see him join. But £100k/wk seems extravagant. Kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. To some fans, either Wenger is going to be viewed as too cheap to pay for quality, or he overpays for mediocrity ...

18-20m + 70-90k wages is about as high as I'd go for Fellaini. I think he'd be a good buy around that ballpark. But 22m+ 100k is pushing it quite a bit.

If we can afford and are willing to splash that kind of money on a DM, we should do it properly by trying to get a real quality DM like Bender or Inler and not the overrated flat-track bully that is Fellaini.

Otherwise there are cheaper and better options in the market, even if it's not a big name. Arteta-Ramsey midfield is fine, just need a backup for Arteta in case he gets suspended or injured.
