Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I will be the happiest person if we dont pay unnecessarily more for Papa. Although I like him, it will be risk when we can get equally good other players in the market for the same price.
Copied my own post from the general section.
It look's as if we've improved if that's what we do.
Skrtel has also came out and said he had a chat to Rodgers and is ready to fight for a starting position.
And rumours are we're pulling out for Papa because Schalke are demanding too much.

Alderweireld from Ajax will go for less wages and a lower fee. He also play's the same type of system at Ajax. He seems the logical way to go but it seems as if Sami has stolen him from us.
Can't really think of anyone else. Papa is great but his knee is an issue. Glad we're not overpaying for a risk.

Interesting. The only way that would be us is if Carroll is going to West Ham in the next couple of days.
Also, 20m may sound a little steep but if you think about, he'll be on small wages. And by small wages, I mean around 40k ish.
Well along with low wages it also shows great intent on behalf of LFC to pursue a player of his talent. So positives from all sides.
I can't speak for his talent, as I've hardly seen him play. I'm just hoping he's good as everyone is hyping him up to be. He sounds good, though.

If Pirlo and Montolivo had problems to contain Mkhi in the that qualification match. I dont want to hype too much about him, but I am happy with his signing.

I have no idea what is so apecial about this kid, why are we ready to pay so much for him as rumoured in the media. Someone had mentioned Adam Maher before, I am not sure who. This guy seems to be far more readymade than alberto, he has already played first team football for AZ Alkmaar, in Eredivisie and has 7 goals, 5 assists. Man city were looking for him but now i guess they are not interested after speding 50mi on navas and that other guy. We should try to snatch him away from ajax.Nishank wrote:Luis Alberto has left for Liverpool, after an agreement for a price has been reached between Sevilla. [Estadio Depotivo]

Pedro Chirivella, the very highly-rated Valencia youngster Liverpool have been heavily linked, has said his goodbyes to the club on his Twitter so it looks like that one could be completed soon.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I've been rather quite in the transfers mercati since I've pretty much taken a vow of celibacy when it comes to speculation and hypothetical. It also has to do with the fact that I lack any ground source of Liverpool transfers which is why I based my twitter account on Milan since sources hit back home.
I do not know anything about Mkhitaryan. I watched Shaktar often within the champions leagues and admittedly, it was Willian, Fernandinho and 1 other Brazilian who stood out for me instead of the Armenian born midfielder. Doesn't reflect on him yet I cannot speculate at all on how he will perform within Liverpool or how he will semantically fit within Rodger's plans.
I would have hoped to acquire a more known talent playing in a superior league yet I'm not entitled to dictate that since Mkhitaryan is an unknown quantity to me.
But what I have heard from my fellow friends here, it gives me considerable optimism to trust within who is a very talented midfielder who is capable of scoring many goals.
I still hope for a marquee signing CB as Benedikt Hoewedes was my #1 hope yet its difficult to speculate. I also hoped we would bank upon Christian Eriksen of Ajax yet that seems far away.
As said previous I'm very happy with the signing of Aaspas who I loved to watch for the Galician side, La Coruna.
I do hope we cut our losses as best as we can to sell that scrub Andy Carroll, replace Stewart Downing with any form of physical matter and hope for the summer to pass as soon as it can.
Cannot wait for the season to start.

Luis Alberto plays in a far more attacking role than Maher. Alberto spent most of the season playing in Barca B's forward line, rather than as a CM/CAM.

I was also under the impression he was coming for <10m, something between 5-8, but now I realize I'm not sure if I saw that anywhere or am just making it up. What are the numbers being tossed around?

8m Euros seems to be the most common figure mentioned. That's about £6.8m.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Where does Mkhitaryan fit in?
Is he a ready made replacement for Downing or what?
I don't know anything about the guy. I watched Shakhtar a bit but I was always payed attention to Willian due to Spurs links.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I think Mkhitaryan will fit in perfectly in the role Hendo was playing for us in the second half of the season (the hybrid attacking mid/left forward sort of role). That would also improve our midfield depth with moving Hendo to the bench. I see Aspas and/or Suarez (if he stays) starting on the right hand side instead of resilient Stewie.
Basically
Basically
Lucas(Allen) -- Gerrard(Hendo)
------------------------------Mkhitaryan(Hendo)
Suarez(Aspas) -- Coutinho(Alberto)---------------
Sturridge(Borini)
------------------------------Mkhitaryan(Hendo)
Suarez(Aspas) -- Coutinho(Alberto)---------------
Sturridge(Borini)

Suarez will be in the centre.
It doesn't really matter though. They'll all be interchanging and running circles against the opposition.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
i m just praying that nuri sahin will not happen to mkhi. I dont think he is a traditional number 10 to unlock the defences with some killer pass, so he may be played on the right. Also his passing stats are bad, may be because of style of shakhtar.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Well apparently there are rumors that Shaktar's manager has said some club have matched buy-out clause but that doesn't mean Shaktar will sell! I guess that means more negotiations are needed. This might take long!

Tbh I'm more keen on news about the possible Mignolet deal than this Ryan deal, it'll be bigger news if we sign Mignolet, imo, than Ryan.
