If he is joining for that kinda wages, he is definitely going to be a first teamer. Don't think FSG/Ayre would allow this otherwise.

I think so too, that BR has plans for him to play more games. But now it is getting really interesting how BR is going to manage funds for all the other positions.

Nothing is official yet, so this could just be bogus for all we know.

I still think this is what's going to happen. It's possible the 90k was justified as still being less than Carra's salary last season (so it's still a budget cut, just not as big of one as we'd have hoped for) and because it's only for 2 years. It's also possible that all of this on twitter is complete bull anyway.

I find it hard to believe that with Agger, Papa and Skrtel (I will only assume he's leaving once he's gone considering the mixed messages we've been hearing) on contract that Kolo would start. BR has flaws, but he's not stupid, and there's a clear talent differential there. Kolo is being brought in to help in training, provide leadership, and play 15-20 games. He's not going to start consistently over better players.

Surely we can find a cheaper bench alternative that can play as an experienced head to the youngsters.

Anatoliy Tymoschuk's contract runs out this summer. Wouldn't be the worst pick up to back-up Lucas for a year.

Random twitter reports from school teachers and wums get multiple pages of discussion and legitimate reports from reputable sources that discuss plans for players get ignored... Kolo is clearly not on 90k (and most likely not even 75k) given his planned role. Papa is still the primary target and expected starter. Kolo will be a squad player on squad wages. Stop knee-jerking to random rumours from the least reliable source (twitter/the internet) ever.
