Re: Arsenal Lobby
Might have a download of that tomorrow, though, it always feels more "official" when you buy the mag. The front cover is too good not to buy too! (except for Gazidis).

I am unable to download it

"Arsenal Football Club is not only about winning," he told reporters.
"We have a large and engaged fan-base around the world who wants to feel as if they belong to the club, and want to feel proud to belong to the club.
"That’s my primary business. When they [the fans] see that we can attract – even though we haven't won a trophy in seven years – one of the top global brands in the world for the type of money and financial commitment they're making, that makes our fans feel proud.
"So our brand is defined by more than winning."
Another donkey getting rich by talking shit.
What an idiot. I bet he thought he was saying something really insightful, but he should realize people won't have that desire to feel like they're a part of the club if the team is producing awful performances week in and week out.
He comes off as if he's justifying the team's shortcomings which he most likely is. That's something else the supporters aren't willing to put up with.
The more I think about what he said the angrier I get, how can someone who is at a high level say such things as "winning is not everything"?
I wonder if he is related to Hill Wood.

I'd rather have a broke, winning team.
all he cares about is finance.. its quite understandable from his position.. he may not be a fan or neednt think about the fans..
but he is so foolish to make such a public statement.. our club will go nowhere with such dumb idiots in all positions...

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Quotes from the FourFourTwo magazine. Taken from the twitter account of MaloneyAFC
Arsène: "My regret is that we already had a great team two or three years ago that could compete on four fronts. You could feel that the potential was there. I thought, 'OK, lets do this together.' But then the team split up. After 5 or 6 years' of work, it's frustrating. You have to start all over again." FFT add; 'His voice betrays a lingering pain. With the likes of Vieira and Henry, who were approaching 30, if they get the opportunity to move you think, 'OK, lets do it. But we have lost recent players earlier in their careers – to lose RVP, Cesc, etc, in just 2 years. Of course you worry.
I think we'll stop it happening again because we've a good generation of English players coming through & we'll build around them. We'll buy players who're really top-class from outside, but I think our target is to produce players who can integrate to our style. My vision for the future is to produce 60 to 80 per cent of the players from inside the club. I think I was fortunate to work for this club for 16 years and I hope I respected the traditions. I feel fortunate but I think somewhere as well I tried, at least to pay the club back for the trust they had in me.
We don't see UCL qualification as enough. We're proud of our record but we want to do more. And we will.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
It was a shame that side of Van Persie, Fabregas, Nasri broke up - was very exciting and great to watch. I just wish the club invested in the extra 1 or 2 that were needed at the time.
Instead of Almunia and Song - if we had gone ahead and bought Given all them years ago or Inler in 08, little things..

Wenger: “There’s one thing I don’t question and that’s the attitude and spirit of this team."
I think he should start questioning, nothing is working.

Wenger's interview is all fine and good, but the facts are there for all to see.
We're behind Stoke and West Ham at the moment sitting at 10th ffs.

LOL!! Hypothetically, who would you support if this situation of Southend and Arsenal in the same league did arise?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I would rather start Rosicky instead of Arshavin, he and Cazorla can swap places during the game which might free Cazorla a bit from the tight marking that he receives from opponent midfield. We also need our fullbacks to cross WITH ACCURACY to utilize Giroud efficiently.

Arshavin to start? Highly doubt that.
Anyway, I'll have preview on the forums by 11-ish.

Arsenal are my first and main team, so in any encounter with Southend (or Sevilla, the other team I've become fond of), I would always want Arsenal to win. No team invokes an emotional response from me as much as Arsenal does.
It'll be a very long time before Southend end up in the Premier League, in any case. There's a decent chance they'll get into the third round of the FA Cup, though, with a replay at home. Their potential third round game is also at home, so maybe if they progress past that, and Arsenal past Swansea, they'll play each other in the cup.
Southend are in the semi-finals of the Southern section of the JPT Trophy. Only three games away (final is two legs) to a potential Wembley trip.
