The fact is Thomas Muller has little talent & a lot of heart & passion. That can only get you till a distance till Talent takes over.
Muller has easily the most intelligent movement of any player in German football.
Van Gaal was the only coach to ever use him properly.
Anyway...you can say what you want about talent...there are many people who had talent but just couldn't cut it and there are many that lacked special talent that went on to become legends.
But Tomas Muller does not even fall in the latter category.
He has special talent.
But he is not a winger.

müller is a guy u can bring on after 60 mins when u need a goal out of nowhere. the starting AM-lineup will be Reus - Özil - Götze soon and that's how it should be

Ofcourse he is not. You put 1 Full-Back against him & 1 for cover & he will never get past them. He does not have that speed & dribbling skills & talent. He is not a winger.
His true position was 2nd ST. In a way Muller is special with his movement though drawing fouls & causing havoc with his runs & link-ups. But then you have got Goetze,Ozil & Kroos for CAM & its hard to not pick them instead of Muller.
Muller does not really have that Goal Scoring Instincts & he has not worked as Single Striker. Its hard to put it in. He meshes well as a 2nd ST in a 4-4-1-1 kinda formation.
Between Ozil, Muller & Goetze based on talent I will pick Goetze, then Ozil then Muller.

Should be:
Reus as a false 9.
Götze - Özil - Poldi
Reus
Reus

Re: Former Player: Toni Kroos
I'd prefer Gotze as false 9 because his link up play and passing and overall game is more accomplished.
Reus is fast as f*ck, good dribbling, movement and finishing but his link play and passing is not good enough to be a false 9 IMO.
But having said that Ozil is behind him so it don't matter so much but also false 9s don't tend to work very well with AM's because the space is very confined.

Re: Former Player: Toni Kroos
Good points, then maybe change Özil with Kroos who isn't an out and out AM.
Maybe something like this:
With Reus,Poldi and The German Messi exchanging positions and thus confusing their markers.
Ps. This is just a way to accommodate both Kroos and Reus who are both hot for their clubs atm, no hate for Özil.

Bender Schweinsteiger
Gotze Kroos Reus
Muller
Gotze Kroos Reus
Muller
I don't know why Germany don't convert Muller to a striker. His off the ball movement alone would net him a lot of goals. He's fast, smart, an extremely hard worker and has decent enough link up play if you want to play something prettier. All he needs to do is bulk up a bit and hone his finishing, but he could pull it off.
He could be the next Gerd

With Neustadter in the middle Goalkeepers become obsolete.

Re: Former Player: Toni Kroos
This Neustadter whatever guy is absolutely mediocre & has very little talent. Piggy will bench Alonso,Fabregas,Biscuits in Spain with ease.
And Piggy is benched for this Joke????
Holtby over Kroos??
Toni Kroos if he actually works is a Would be Ballon D'Or Winner. This aint an exaggeration when Kroos was on fire last season & this he was Bayern's Best Player & Main Man ahead Of Robbery which is amazing.
No Goetze.. Kroos & Goetze are the biggest German Talents in the last 20 years.
Holbty is good but he is not even better than Draxler. Draxler is way better than Holtby.

Re: Former Player: Toni Kroos
AND BTW as good as Howedes is he got benched by Uchida & Matip. Papadopolous is a lot better presently & Howedes is warming the bench.
Says a lot about him.
Samourai just wants to have Less Bayern Players.
WTF is Ozil doing over Goetze in the long run??
OR Khediera over Piggy as the Neustader guy plays quite deep.

Not really. Last season he was playing CM paired up with a Matip or a Hoger doing the defensive duties.
This season Schalke are playing the Neustader guy with Jones as CM-DM combo and are using Holtby as AM with Draxler as LM.

Re: Former Player: Toni Kroos
There is more about Muller than just pure talent, look at world-cup for instance he took the world by storm.
Personally if you already have technical players like say for example King Kroos, Gotze and Reus then you don't need less technical player like Ozil.
Soon Ozil and Khedira will be dropped from the national team(posibly as bench warmers), you simply have to look at the arrival of Modric/Essien in Madrid, Khedira is already losing his starting belt to ancient Essien and Ozil will also be dropped in favour of Modric.
with that said, Ozil lacks endurance, which put players like Kroos and Gotze ahead of him, lets be honest if Madrid didn't sign Khedira and Ozil, I don't see them as starters for national team, Low as a manager pick his players based on the club they play for, take Badstuber for example, it was a mistake playing him as left in 2010 world-cup, but Low being the copy-cat that he is, decided to copy legendary Van Gaal but failed miserably and had to drop him.
and yeah, I agree with the guy who said Germany should play with 3 attacking midfielders, the fullback will give a little width to the team and of course the left-right Attacking midfielders can also help out.
-----------Schweini----Bender------------
---------Reus-------Kroos-----Gotze------
--------------------Muller----------------
This is a goat team right there.

Mario Gomez, Dennis Aogo, Jerome Boateng and Sami Khedira all have a German mother. irrelevant Piotr Trochowski is of german-ancestry as well as Miro Klose.
you really seem to be an expert in the field! on the one hand we're nazis but at the same time we shouldn't integrate people of foreign background into our national side. why don't u rethink that while roaming the streets of athens throwing stones..

And you're a pure blood Greek? Do you know how mixed up Greek people are, historically? Want me to list me all the ingredients to the cocktail?Ninis wrote:shit just got real
