Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Well can't say we could say no to Lloris just to save Szczesny's career. We're not trying to do players favors, whoever deserves the spot should get it. Also, if we got Lloris that would be pretty badass as Spuds have been linked with him. And he's a badass in FIFA.

More importantly, he's a badass for Lyon and for France. It would be great to have two quality goalkeepers at Arsenal.

It's certainly not something I would bet money on happening. Sure would be nice though.

I dont see lloris coming. CAn u see the club spend around 16 to 20 million on a GK when there is no pressure to reinforce that position. I think Woj has the fans and AW full support.
Would a good signing but seems unlikely.
As a creative midfielder, martinez from bilbao wont be bad, mouitinho would also be ok.
An outside player could be Dempsey.

I would like to see Alan Dzagoev come to Arsenal he is a goal scoring attacking midfielder been a star for Russian national team scored three goals at Euros.
Although with the way we used Arshavin not sure many Russian players would want to come.
He is also out of contract in December but Spurs were rumoured to be after him.

Lloris is much better than Szczesny at the moment obviously and would take his spot without a doubt, but we don't need to spend 18 million pounds to get a player that we don't desperately need. Szczesny is pretty good, he's young and will get only better.
Better spend that money on something we actually need more.

Lloris deadline:
Lyon Club President Jean-Michel Aulas told the club's website: 'If there is no offer before July 15 he will remain at the club for the coming season. For the moment there has been no offer from Arsenal or anywhere else.'
I'd relish the purchase of Lloris. Buying him, selling the deadwood, signing Dzaegov and a DM/versatile defender would be the perfect transfer window now that RvP has decided to abandon us, whether that's this summer or next.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Buying a £15million goalkeeper when we already have a number 1 would be absolutely retarded.
Szczesny may have had mistakes last year, but his saves got us some vital points as well.
Spend that money somewhere else ffs

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
As much as I love Szczesny, he's nowhere near Lloris' quality and he also cost us some points with stupid mistakes which is bound to happen to a keeper in his first year as a no. 1 but our primary concern now that we've signed Podolski and Giroud should be finding a way to plug up the back as our defense was horrid last year, a great keeper could do that as well as additions in the midfield and as I keep reiterating, a fullback.

Agreed. I'm a big fan of Szczes, and while he made some mistakes this past season(as expected in his 1st year), I think he could end up at Lloris' level in a couple seasons. Let's spend the money elsewhere..
