Re: La Masia
Both matches I've seen from Suárez he has impressed me, he has a very neat touch that I like in a player and a good dribbler but not the type that dribbles with pace but more with his body movement and out-thinking the opposition. But what I like him the most is that he is one of those players who knows what he is gong to do and reads the play 2-3 moves before everyone else and can dictate the play in midfield. Very clever player in my opinion. Of course there's a reason why he is not a starter but from what I saw from him I liked the former Celta boy a lot.
And regarding Deulofeu, to me he is one of those players that like marmite you either like him or hate him. I personally don't like his style nor his antics. He tries too much and often with bad results. Reminds me a bit of a Portuguese player many people idolise. I guess the marmite theory makes sense.

Re: La Masia
Everyone knows that Deulofeu needs to improve a lot of things and has bad attitude, but he is the most promising player in our youth team and in Spain IMO.
And yes, he is very similar to Cipriano, I was the first to point out this more than a year ago.

Re: La Masia
No way was Deulofeu Spains best player, in the 2nd half, imo, he was Spains most threatening player but not the best. The best has to be Torres, who for me, was by faaaaaar the best in the game..

Re: La Masia
Deulofeu has a lot of promise, the only problem I have with him is sometimes he pulls a CR7 and looses the ball, if he gets to first team Messi will put him in his place so hopefully it'll get fixed.

Like Free said... stop pointing out the obvious people, everybody knows Deulofeu is raw as hell and not ready for first team football. We all knew he's selfish and like CR7. He still has plenty to learn and improve in his game. This season is an important one for him with the B team. A chance for him to mature

Re: La Masia
Is it true that Deulofeu is the top assister of the Euros? If that is true, then he cant be that selfish. He just doesnt hide when the going gets tough..

Re: La Masia
More than selfish, he has bad decision making as he chooses to drible way too much and in difficult situations. He was Barça B top assister too.

Re: La Masia
True, Deulofeu provided the most assists in the euro..
Deulofeu and Paco has 3 assists each in eurou19, Jese (0)..
for BarcaB, in 34 games (23 starts), Deulofeu scored 9 goals and assisted 7.
great stats for a 17 year old player (17 during season 2011-12).

IMO the problem is that, not that he is selfish. Selfish for me is someone who sees nothing BUT the goal and never his team mates.
Decision making improves with age, just look at Messi. When he was younger he wanted to dribble everyone and now he dribbles when he only needs to and passes when he needs to.
Stat wise wasnt Deulofeu the Best player at the Euro with 2 goals and 3 assist?

Re: La Masia
-Edgar and Agostinho are 'advanced' in negotiating their contracts with Barca B.
-Sergio Araujo (Boca) is negotiating with Barca reps and could join the B team.
-Ignasi Miquel (Arsenal, ex-La Masia) is also being looked at as an option for Barca B.
Araujo could be a good signing if he's cheap... didn't do much last season but worth a go. Rodri is rubbish... would be happier with Dongou, Araujo and Rafinha as our main strikers. Araujo can also play as a winger.
On Miquel... Would be a great signing for the B team... I like what I've seen of him. I think he'd be our best CB if we signed him (dunno about Lomban). However, if we sign him... We go from having not many CBs to having too many (Gomez, Edgar Le, Lomban, Ayala, Miquel). So I'm not sure it will happen. Further, it would be a strange move for him, no guarantee of first team football at all. Bit of a gamble whereas I think he has a future at Arsenal... looks almost ready for them.

Re: La Masia
Araujo = Overrated player. People said he would be Boca's next big thing about a year ago, now nobody even talks about him. His finishing is bad, he is not clever. Pretty lazy too. All flash no substance type of player.
Ignasi Miquel = I think every time I saw him play in Arsenal they lost with him being the weak link in defence. He was mainly used as LB and his pace was WAY off EPL standards.

Re: La Masia
Perhaps because Miquel isnt a leftback?
To me, he has Pique written all over him. Just not prepared for the PL yet.
But he has talent.
I am not sure where he fits at Arsenal, indeed they will be willing to sit on him and wait, however none of Verm, Mertsacker, Kos or Djourou are even 30 yet.

To me he is way too slow to be a top flight footballer. Whether he is used as a LB, CB or even on the bench. The Franchise wrote:Perhaps because Miquel isnt a leftback?
Re: La Masia
He isnt slower than Mertersacker, in fact, I dont think he is as slow as Jonh Terry either.
We will have to see what becomes of him.

A 9 year old boy from my country named Sandro Reyes was invited in La Masia for a trial after participating in a Barca camp in Singapore, taking the award as most outstanding player in the process.
I hope he does well!

Re: La Masia
Good article Kizz. Miquel is not that slow tbh. Mertesacker is slower than him. He definately is above B team strandards though he would be a great addition to the squad. He is a former La Masia product and has shown promise with Arsenal though like Barta/Muniesa/Fontas, he probably won't get the game time being in the first team. I cant see him doing that. Haven't seen Araujo much though what I have heard, B team will be a great place for him to develop as a player.

Re: La Masia
He has gone faster than last year or so. Definitely faster than Mertesacker and probably on par with Hummels in terms of speed.
I am not exactly sure what will happen with him but Wenger rates him high and reports suggest he will go on a season loan to Brighton and be part of the 1st team next season.

Probably needs to gain the experience of being a first team regular. Hopefully he does well, impresses and has a bright future in Wenger's eyes.RealGunner wrote:He has gone faster than last year or so. Definitely faster than Mertesacker and probably on par with Hummels in terms of speed.
