And Deulofleu scores the winning penalty lol.

I was impressed with Oliver Torres, Suso and Denis after he came on, the keeper stepped up in the penalty shooutout as well.

Torres is amazing , i'm praying Barca don't sign him for La Masia they probably won't seeing as they have Samper already but I've seen Samper and this guy looks better.

Exactly, Suárez had an impressive game. Looked very dangerous on the ball. I didn't see the first goal Gerard made, but the way he cheered after making his second was cringeworthy tbh. Pointing at himself like an asshole, like he did it all on his own. Not giving his teammates a chance to hug him. The kid is very talented, but apart from getting more clinical infront of goal he really needs to get that attitude in check.

I hope press will stop with overhyping Deulofeu. I hope he won't end up as another Bojan. One good game in Euro U-19 and Sport, MD with the covers of Deulofeu Gran Fichaje Laughing For now, he is rich man's Tello. I hope he will live up to the hype.

Let's hope Dongou, Deulofeu and Rafinha will have a better careers than The Trio of Overhype Hopes: Bojan, Assulin, Giovanni Dos Santos. Smile

Neither of Bojan and Gio were really overhyped either, they both have the ability still, but are being held back for other reasons.

Bojan was overhyped. Some people believed he would surpass Messi. The media called him "Barca's future Raul".

Raul doesn't reach Messi's studs.

Bojan could/can well get to Raul's level.

Poor game by Deulofeu, especially the 1st half.. But, he's assist to Jese was brilliant!!

Spain won euro u19 again. Deulo was the best player in the final by far,.created most of Spain's chances and assisted the winner to Jesse after leaving 3 Greeks behind.

Jesse is a good player too, more of a finished than Gerard. Jesse was top scorer with 5 goals and was voted best player of the tournament. I didn't watch any other match, but based on today's hand Gerard deserved more.

Grimaldo had a very good game too.

there's a guy called Oliver Torres who is very very good.

Grimaldo performance throughout the tournament was consistent... At age of 16, he's showing a lot of maturity!
Is it true that he's height is 176cm? he seems short! If its true, in 2-3 years, he will be 180+ which is great, the player we're searching for.. Great going forward and very good defensively, very good passer, good control and can dribbler.

I think he could make his debut sooner that we thought!

Deulofeu, needs to improve his decision making.. very talented, He's great dribbler but sometimes he over-dribble.. His control and 1st touch are very good, but he needs to improve the passing and finishing...

I would like to see him getting some paying time this preseason...

Meh, he has pace. Against experienced defenders he will choke if he only relies on his quick bursts of speed. Also I think he was the poorest Spain performer apart from the goal incident.

More impressed with Suárez and Torres. Grimaldo too, he is an engine on the left flank, good reader of the game, has pace and a very direct style of play. A Clichy-esque player but one can hope he surpasses the Frenchman due to his better tactical awareness. The guy's only 16...Clichy GTFO!!!!

Overall, although Jese scored 5 goals (0 assists)..
Deulofeu was better, he created tons of chances, although sometimes lost the ball more than he should, he still managed to great important chances (scored 2 goals and assisted 3 "best assist by Deulofeu were to Jese, great dribbling and brilliant final pass").

O.Torres (CM, Atletico's player) is very talented also, with Suarez, Grimaldo, Jese and Deulofeu the most talented in the Spanish team

True, both were poor tonight.. lost a lot of balls..

Jese and Deulofeu lost 4-5 balls each, by over-dribbling...
But Deulofeu madeup for it in the 2nd half, by creating 3+chances..

I didn't really see him creating 3+ chances. Most of those you're talking about were barely half chances I believe. He needs to look to pass more. I can already see why Pep wasn't so keen on starting him ahead of Cuenca/Tello.

Edit: He did improve in the second half though.

Jese made up for it as well, he created chances for himself the keeper made a miracle save off 1 of his attacks but overall neither were really anywhere near the best player today for me.

Naah, he didn't really convince me. He works hard but his decision making was often poor. But no worries for Merengues. Knock, knock. Who's there? Álvaro Morata.

Deulofeu meh? He created everything for Spain:

In first half:
- death pass from the left after dribling that no one reached
- Dribling and very good pass changing to the right side to Jese that almost scored
- One two to Jese that crossed and Alcacer couldn't tap.
In second half he destroyed the left back countless of times and finally assisted to Jese.

Meh was Alcacer who didn't do anything.

Deulofeu tried to drible way too much. It's a problem he has and that he needs to correct, but he was the most dangerous, and that to me is playing well.

No end product after going pass the fullbacks, missed a tap in from Jese, lost the ball many times, you and I were watching completely different games.

If you're trying to he was the one who took on fullbacks..well that's his job, but he was terribly ineffective at doing it today.

But hey he was one of our best players over the course of the tournament, didn't really dominate like you said he would but not bad either.

Grimaldo was great tonight as well, except for that one game against Portugal, very good tournament from him.

Yes, so terribly uneffective that he created the only goal in the game.

Post by danyjr Sun Jul 15, 2012 10:12 pm

Both matches I've seen from Suárez he has impressed me, he has a very neat touch that I like in a player and a good dribbler but not the type that dribbles with pace but more with his body movement and out-thinking the opposition. But what I like him the most is that he is one of those players who knows what he is gong to do and reads the play 2-3 moves before everyone else and can dictate the play in midfield. Very clever player in my opinion. Of course there's a reason why he is not a starter but from what I saw from him I liked the former Celta boy a lot.

And regarding Deulofeu, to me he is one of those players that like marmite you either like him or hate him. I personally don't like his style nor his antics. He tries too much and often with bad results. Reminds me a bit of a Portuguese player many people idolise. I guess the marmite theory makes sense.
