Grimaldo is going to be a gem of a LB, you can already tell at 15 years old.

This play is what made me give in to Khaleds hype. His movements are Alves-esque, the way he passes the ball and gets into position to receive the pass again, I know this is basic stuff at La Masia though.

Post by free_cat Mon 26 Mar 2012 - 10:10

Couln't watch yesterday's match, it wasn't broadcasted in any channel! Sad
Anyway, here are the highlights!

We won 2-1 having to comeback from 0-1.

Again, Deulofeu our main attacking outlet, all attacking chances in the first half came from his feet. He is a machine, already better than Cuenca or Tello IMO, he combines the best of both players. It is very nice to see that he is adding pass to his game (an assist and two nice chip passes that could have ended in goal for us).

Dongou, scored the winner (his first with Barça B) after a collective play that ended in a Femenia's cross.

I suppose this thread will have lots of watches and replies, as everyone in this forum is a "conoisseur" of our youth players and can easily say that Fontas/Bartra/Muniesa are much worse than Botia. So, I guess they'll be interested in seeing how our B players fare and compare to others.

... not.

I hope Deulofeu matures a bit, and also grows a bit physically in the next 2 years, because I don't want to wait too much longer to see him in the first team. The kid is wondferfully talented. Tbh I don't even think its a contest between him and Tello/Cuenca, they're just older and understand their strengths better.

Then there's Dongou coming through too.... La Masia  Seriously, I don't think we need to buy players in the future.

Highly doubt it will be a team better than the next Gen, which left out u19's like Rafa Alcantara, Javier Espinosa, Muniesa, Sergi Gomez, Luis Gustavo, Deulofeu (basically all the Barca B team players who are u19).

Still a talented team, especially Grimaldo, Samper, Dongou.

Post by free_cat Fri 6 Apr 2012 - 0:43

This week's highlights. Not very interesting. We tied 1-1 vs Nàstic Tarragona. Only important highlight for me, is Lobato's goal after a nice cross from Planas. I want to comment on Planas, as he is a LB and we are short of LB. I've seen him grow a lot this season after Muniesa was moved to DM and later promoted. He does a better job than Muniesa ever did as LB. He is better going forward, and at least as solid as Muniesa in the back. He is strong and tall-ish (edit: He is listed at only 1.73, I though he was taller...), not fast, not slow either, with neat passing and technique. He should be considered before we go all out signing FB, perhaps he can pull a Pedro.

Yeah, I wasn't able to find a working stream for this game so this is much appreciated.

BTW, do you guys also get a message saying full screen is not available? Could it be because I use FF instead of IE?

La Masia - Page 13 Empty Barça B highlights (5 games).

Post by free_cat Tue 10 Apr 2012 - 10:17

This week's highlights:

Deulofeu at it again. Did a nice play before a cross and scored the first with a "Telloesque" goal, running in behind fast. He twisted his ankle just after the goal, so he had to be subbed in the minute 20 for Riverola who scored the second.

I watched the second half and we were very superior to Cordoba. I liked how Rodri played in the second half, although he was a bit selfish, but the guy is improving. He doesn't look the megabluff he was before.

Post by free_cat Tue 10 Apr 2012 - 12:10

I watched yesterday's juvenil A match vs. Espanyol. It was the title decider, as it's the round 29 out of 30 and Barça is now on top by 1 point after winning 2-0. It was the first game of the Season that Espanyol lost.

Barça couldn't dominate the match and played fairly defensive and counterattacking. Espanyol looked more dominant, but couldn't end the plays well. Samper played infiltrated! The first was an own goal, and Dongou scored the second. Good game from our defenders and Dongou.

Especially want to highlight Bagnack game, although he was finally sent off for a stupidity (second yellow cause he grabb the ball after a foul), he was immense all the match long, clearing 10s of crossess and intercepting a lot. A gem of a prospect CB. Dongou was very good, and Samper and Grimaldo were ok. The midfielders on Juvenil A werent at the level of Espanyol players.

All in all, a great feat as the Juvenil A is the youngest team in their league and they now will win the league if they win their last match.

Roberto Costa?

You mean Robert Costa Ventura?
In our website he is listed as a midfielder: 06-06-94 playing for Juvenil B.
I don't think I've ever watched him.

I don't know if I made that word up. Very Happy

Samper had a strong contusion and was doubt, so they injected him with painkillers and could play the game. In catalan that's called "infiltrar" so i just made up the translation as "infiltrate" though I don't really know if that's correct.
