He's pretty ordinary really...

Probably one of the most ordinary players in Barca B the last couple of years.

His main quality is work-rate, which makes him very flexible. Doubt he'd be good enough to start for Olympiakos. Technically he's one of the worst in the squad.

Haven't seen much of him this year though.

MIC results:

Born from 1994:
Espanyol won Vilareal 2-0 in the final (we didn't compete in this one).

Bron from 1997:
Aspire Football Dreams (Qatar Academy that Rosell set up and has influece on) won 2-1 vs Espanyol.
We lost at quarterfinals at penaltiers vs. Girona.

Born from 1999:
We lost in the final 0-1 vs Aspire Football Dreams.

Born from 2001 football 11:
We won the tournament vs.Ivoire SP (probably a Cote d'Ivory squad). No idea who they are but they knocked Man United in the semifinals.

Born from 2001 football 7:
We didn't compete, and Espanyol won 6-1 vs. Liverpool in the final.

Conclusion:

Good showing from our lads. From three teams, we won one cathegory, reached a final, and lost in the quarterfinals. Espanyol also had a great performance (2 wins out of 4 teams), which is not that bad although they are rivals because we very often poach from Espanyol cantera. Catalan youth systems seems to continue to be on the raise.
Finally, Aspire Academy won in two cathegory while they won in 3 last year.
Considering Aspire Academy is under Rosell's radar, we can conclude we've got the best youth recruiting possibilities in the world, although most likely most of Aspire players will end up being nobodies because false ages, etc being mostly from poor african countries.

Nice vid.

Doesn't bother me a lot that he's individualistic. Barca boys will teach him to pass more when he needs, that all comes for a kid like this.

And personally I'd rather him have this confidence and ability than become a pinball bumper like Alexis and Pedro have who just bounce the ball straight back to midfield.

Can't see the vid. Is it a Deulofeu vid?

Watched two games from our youth today. Our u12 destroying San Andreu in football 7. Ansumane Fati was a beast and take kubo was also good.

Our cadet a won the league beating girona. They have a lot of good players. Canos wasn't playing, maybe he's injured, but they have other quality players, like a LW or LB called Julen or Cadet B carles alenya. Especially cadet A central midfielders are great, much better than our midfielders at juvenile.
Alenya, Ayoub, Morer and Sarsanedes. At least one of them will triumph.

Tito went to the match to watch hi son Adria who is a starting CB. I was impressed with his partner, Juanma, who is a great defender. We don't have many players that stand out for their defending within our youth, and juanma does.

Juan Manuel Garcia Rey? Or is he of Juvenil B.

Couldn't find any info on a Juanma at Cadet level. But this guy I've heard of before. He's captain at national youth level and can play LB or CB.

Yes, Juan Manuel = juanma.
He is usually with juvenile B but he is of Cadet age and played with Cadet A this weekend, I guess to help them secure the league. Left footed CB, very fast and intense, great tackler. Ok on the ball like all of our youngsters. Didn't see much of him in the air, but he is not very short, so he should be ok.

Yeah, I know how the name works, just didn't know a player could play down a level... seems kind of dodgy.

But yeah, I saw him play for Spain for a bit once and he was nominated in the Futbol Draft awards.

He seems to be rated highly. Hope he progresses well.

Btw... Gomez, Muniesa, Roberto, Samper and Deulofeu have made the final 55 of these Futbol Draft awards.

However, I only think Deulofeu will make the Gold XI, but Gomez, Muniesa and Roberto could all make the Silver XI in my opinion.

Weirdly, Muniesa was nominated as a LB, not an LCB (which he was last year, and won Silver). He'd win Gold for LCB position this year, but likely Aurtenetxe wins LB Gold this year... Stupid.

What are these Draft awards?

Yes, a youth player can play at any level he wants if he is younger that the age limit, that's the case of Juanma who is young enough to play for Cadet, but was already playing for Juvenil.

Watched our Cadet B yesterday, in my opinion, the best youth team in our system.

They trashed Valls 6-1.
Great first half from Brahima Fati who played as 9 because Lee's absence. He's usually a midfielder.
Dani Morer played as right back in the first half and was awesome (he's usually a CM). He played as CM in the second and DoD great too, he's very technical. Goof game from Charles Alenya too and especially the other CM Giorgos, who scored 4 goals.

Awesome team and without their stars Jang and Lee.

Do you know what the update is re Lee and Fifa?

Also, watched Barca B play against Girona losing 0-1.

Despite Girona being a good team and 4th we controlled possession reasonably well. This team is still lacking the quality of past years though.

Deulofeu was good, and pretty much only one seriously threatening. Set up Kiko twice who should have scored. Deulo looked a level above his teammates and needs a new challenge.

Edgar Ie looking like a good investment. He's been solid last few weeks and was immense today.

Free, do you rate Ie?

I have no new info on Lee & Co situation. Hope they can play from next season. They'll be able to play some friendlies now though.

Nice that Deulofeu played well and that he set up Kiko, It's always nice to see him do teamplay stuff. Haven't been able to follow the B these last weeks.

I only watched one game of Ie, and he looked promising. It was his debut as starter. He looks better than Gomez and with more potential, but I have to watch him more to tell if I rate him or not.

The B will play vs espanyol this week in Catalunya cup.

Who will be promoted from Juvenil A? Adama? Samper? Bagnack?

Players from 94 have to leave or go up this yr...:

Babunski, Pol Calvet, Cristian Herrera, Lucas Gafarot, Costa, Moussima, Brian, Nando Quesada, Sergi Tienda.

(Highlighted the ones that I know are a bit promising at least...)

I'd like to see:

Banuz
Balliu Ie Gomez Grimaldo
Samper Gustavo Espinosa
Adama Dongou Araujo

Lucas Gafarot has been training with the first team lately and they seem to trust him a lot. He will probably be promoted to the B (LB).

I don't think we'll purchase Araujo, he costs 8 milion, it's too much. If we are not willing to spend the 4 milion on Luis Alberto, then surely he's out of question.

I think Adama will spend another season at Juvenil, it was just his first season. Not even Deulofeu was promoted 2 years before ending juvenil age.

Also, I think Bañuz and Espinosa ara leaving.

Banuz and Espinosa leaving? Damn... Thought Banuz was supposed to be more promising than Masip and Espinosa can grow and sell for more. We need him in mid.

Yeah, thing with Araujo is, I think his loan may be renewed. I think long-term it would benefit both parties. Since he seems to have improved and probably is learning things. If he does well next year, Boca can sell him to someone.

Oh yeah. Remember seeing that about Lucas.

I left Planas out because I thought he and Ilie probably will move on.

Joan Roman and Ca seem to have some ability if we give them chances.

What do you think though, wouldn't Boca be happy to renew him for a season? Grows at best academy in the world and he wasn't setting their pitches alight so he'd probably do better here.

I say negotiate a new loan.

His agent has been contacting all the big clubs in England. United/Liverpool/Chelsea and Arsenal to be specific. Was wondering why. Apparently Julio's younger brother Xavi Pleguezuelo is also going to leave Barca. But to Espanyol.

Unless they feel he has progressed enough they want to cash in on him to someone.

But yeh I would like a new loan, I see someone who can be impactful.

Deulofeu and Gomez won gold awards at the FutbolDraft awards and Roberto and Muniesa made the Bronze team.

Interesting selections. Thought Roberto and Muni would be on silver... And Gomez is a bit surprising though he had little competition it seems.
