Bit sad that people are gagging for Terry and Suarez to be guilty? Wouldn't normal people be hoping the events hadn't taken place?

To be honest is it was other players involved that had cleaner characters I would have allot more sympathy and less interest.
But these are 2 of the vilest players going that have got away with indiscretions for too long. Its about time they got their comeuppance.

Terry's statement:"I will fight to prove my innocence. I have campaigned against racism & believe there is no place for it in society."
"I am disappointed with the decision to charge me & hope to be given the chance to clear my name as quickly as possible"

What are they going to talk about in court?
There is a video. How will Terry defend himself here? Or is what he said in the video not punishable?

Re: terry going to court
English player and england captain, regardless of whether he dis anythin or not he will get away with it.
To be honest people should get over this racism thing i mean im a wog and have met the occasional aussie racist which will say some dirty things, which have resulted in a few fights.
But dont be a girl instead of cryin wolf, just be proud of what u are and let them know u are proud,in athelites cases they cant fight but they can still stick up for themselves.
No wonder theres still racism, people have heart attacks left right and centre when somethin is said about african people.
Just defend who u are and where ur from, dnt cry about it, at te en of the day there just words.
I know iv prob explained this poorly but im on my phone so cbf.
Long story short if such a stink wasnt kicked up, this would happen less simply because noone would say it because no one cares if they do.

look mate, in the 70s and 80s, England had serious problems with racism ( clyde best and viv anderson)
when the EPL was formed in 1992, it was meant to clean up englands image in football from hoolganism to racism and bad stadiums
and we see how the EPL went far with a "clean" image..
so honestly I think what they are doing even do harsh, can be tottally justified

No i think u miss understood, i totally agree that the punishment is justified without a doubt.
What im sayin is african people should not kick up such a fuss anymore.
Honestly racism is not a big deal these days.
Espc in england now, is one stupid comment said in the heat if a game really gonna kill the other person, yes its wrong but geez get the hell over it.
People get insulted all the time.
U get aussies being called convicts, wogs being insulted for bein wog, arabic people being called terrosists etc etc.
Yes all these things are wrong, but the more we react the more reason we give people to keep sayin these things.
And for me it seems like u can say whatever u want about anyone else race but god forbid someone say nigro.
I do get all their history and what not but we live in age where we are all equals now and someone sayin one stupid thing shouldnt be such a big deal to them anymore.

So if Suarez got 8 matches, Terry will get 10+ would be a fair outcome as he has no possible excuses.

Re: terry going to court
Interesting case, from what I'm reading, John Terry's defense is that he thought he heard Anton, accusing him of calling him a black c**t, he then sarcastically asked if Anton thought he had called him a black c**t. He then confronted Anton after the match and Anton said it was no big deal, just "hand bags".
Anton goes home and is shown a youtube video on a blackberry by his girlfriend, he gets angry as he thinks Terry called him a black c**t, so on the advice of Rio Ferdinand's PR, he decides to pursue the case.

Re: terry going to court
Im no expert on body language and gesticulation but the look of Terry when he says it doesn't match with his own account of events to me.
You would think if some one accused of saying something like that which you hadn't, there would be a kind of WTF look, where did that come from as you repeated it. There is not a hint of sarcasm in his mannerism.
Terrys posture looks aggressive to me as if he was abusing some one. I personally think this is BS and a excuse he has come up with to try and worm his way out of it.
There's some funny comments on the Sunderland forum in relation to this. Apparently Cole said to Ferdinand you cant talk to JT like that.

Why the *bleep* not? What's this prick got over people, are people scared of the *bleep* or something? I could understand if he was royalty or something, but Jesus Christ the blokes a *bleep* nugget.
Cos he's the great John Terry who's led our national team to glory all over the world with his astounding footballing skills . I for one will always be grateful to him for winning the Worl...errm ( bad example) the Euro.....( erm howld on )nivver mind he did lead Chelsea to victory in the Champions league fin.....( shit shit shit ) He scored the winning penalty in the Cham....( *bleep* ! ) He shagged Wayne Bridge's ex !

Re: terry going to court
Probably Terry won't get any punishment from anywhere, and that'll be funny when you compare Suarez' 8-game ban to Terry's "slip of the tongue"
