Platini questioned by Swiss court today.
Platini is being questioned today 19th Oct 2011 in a Swiss court regarding not allowing FC Sion into the EL and breking a courts' dicission.
Sion was ruled out the EL in August, and was accused of playing some names that were not suposed to be playing, against Celtic. FC Sion later lost its appeal in UEFA. In a challenge to UEFA and FIFA rules, FC Sion took the case to a Swiss court, and won the case.
The UEFA failed to meet the courts decision, and therefore they have to pay 1113 usd on every day that FC Sion are not in the competition. In the deffence the UEFA said their laws state that they can not withdraw a previous call from their diciplinery commetee.
This might lead to cancelling all the results of group I. And start all over again.

Re: Platini questioned by Swiss court today.
wow
haha the sooner he gtfo the better
but how could they come down to two different rulings
in the swiss court they won the appeal, but in uefa they didnt
tbh if its true that they did field players that were ineligible to play then they shouldnt be able to compete further, look what happened to syria for ex, if they were disqualified then so should fc sion imho

Will they add Sion to the Celtic group then and make it a 5 team group?

Always fun to see a real legal body pwn an organization that likes to pretend that it is the law.

The problem is the discrepancy of law throughout Europe.
Where is FIFA based out of? That is the court that should make the decision.

UEFA operate out of Nyon, Switzerland so that judgement would be binding.
FIFA headquarters are in Zurich I think so both are on the same boat.
