Nowadays most of fullbacks are meant to be an extra supporter for the midfielders and provide passing options, you guys overrate the defending aspect of LBs.

Marcelo is not good at defending though, Maldini probably valued his attacking attributes more than his defending. i'd say he's decent as LB and WC as LWB.

What rape? Did I watch the same match! the only time Navas was in the game was when he scored @ 4-1 with Real Madrid a man down, and it was against Ramos. Marcelo had a decent game not his best game, as Mourinho instructed him to stay back due to Pepe's early red card.

He can defend though, not the best out there but what he gives you going forward is more than worth it.

Seriously we're a much worse team without him. I simply don't think any LB out there can make an impact on a game like he can.

They will make documentaries about how Marcelo changed the game. How teams now prefer attacking fullbacks who can control the ball better than most CMs over slow "defenders'' who only make two meter passes. :bow:
