Bayern isn't going for a trouble maker like Suarez IMHO, don't see it happening. Doesn't fit their recent signing policy.

Words mean nothing, action speak louder than words.

Carroll said he would never leave 2 weeks before joining Liverpool.

Find it amazing how people treat words as gospel.
But did Carroll actually want to leave? Or did the club just sell him? Because they were offered 35m for him, and if I was Newcastle idc how much he wants to stay Im selling him if I get that much

If I am a liverpool fan, at least this is nice to hear that he is happy to play there as long as the club wants him. Sure he could be lying, or not totally honest, but he could have also said something diva-ish like "well if we don't make the CL then idk what future I have here" or "im out of here if we don't finish top 4"

So as long as that stays the case I think Suarez will stay a Liverpool player unless a club is willing to seriously overpay for him. Because a player making it public that they want to leave, seriously damages the clubs negotiating abilities and are almost always sold for way less than they are worth..

And if someone does way overpay, then I don't think Liverpool fans will mind all that much, much like I don't think you really cared that Carroll left when you got that much back for him, possibly Razz

I agree that actions speak louder than words but this is false. Carroll initally rejected us. He was forced out.

You're not wrong Mole. Actions do speak louder than words, and often times you hear the same set of generic quotes from every player about pledging their loyalty, how they're at a good club, how they don't want to leave, etc. Too often, players are coached to same these things to endear themselves to the supporters. Sometimes players mean it, sometimes they don't.

On the other hand, you're demonstrating some of the things that are wrong with football nowadays. The quoted statement is so obviously jaded it's sad. It reads as if you automatically distrust a player before he ever does anything to suggest that the supporters should not believe him.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but Suarez shown every sign of being a genuinely loving husband and father and a devoted friend. Look up the story of his move to Europe... I'll spoil a little bit for you: it wasn't motivated by money. Check out his Facebook page. The guy builds snowmen with his daughter and wife, celebrates anniversaries by spelling things in rose petals, spends time with some of his best friends who are also at the club, and brings his daughter along to sign his new long-term contract. These aren't the actions of an unsettled player or an ego-maniac looking to boost his personal brand.

Does any of the mean he won't leave? OF COURSE NOT! Players make professional decisions to move on all the time. In truth, even the most bull-headed supporter would have to admit that the club can't currently give Suarez the level of competition and glory that he deserves. Should he move on in a way that doesn't undermine the club and it's progression, I would continue to support him almost regardless of his new destination.

Then again, where has he given the supporters any reason to doubt that he's telling the truth? He's only ever quashed any rumor that he would "quit the club" or seek the big-money move. There are certainly clubs that would have paid him more than his new contract at LFC does. Yet, he's still here, giving his all, only mentioning how much he enjoys playing for the club. We have no reason to be suspicious, nor reason to blame him should he eventually move on.

For now, I have no reason to doubt that he wants to stay in Liverpool. His comments are quite clear and specific. How long that lasts... who knows? However, this is about as definite as things get in football nowadays.

Doesn't Suarez usually go for the nutmegs?

Messi doesn't intend to do nutmegs.

Fantastic goals he scored today, but he's the worst sportsman I could ever think off, in the build up to Joe Allen's goal he clearly pushed the zenith defender and injured him which resulted in the defender being subbed out.

He again stamped on another defender when he was on the floor, it could have been accidental but given the record of Suarez I wouldn't put it past him as being intentional.

Looks to me like he looks down for a few moments to see where the player is and decides to stamp on him anyway. Also, he breaks stride to take a shorter step just to do it, whereas he could have easily jumped over him.

Monumentally douchy

He is CHASING after the ball when we need a goal......of course he'd run through brick-walls to get the best chance to prevent the ball from going out.

that Russian body happened to be on his quickest path, absolutely nothing wrong.

Apart from the freekicks, I think he was actually poor....but I can't complain about 2 goals :coffee:

The slow-mo makes it look worse than it actually was.

He was trying to get the ball with his right foot. He looks at the CB then looks straight at the ball and slips over the sliding defender. It was a foul. And it was a bad foul. But *bleep* hell. You make it sound like he's assaulted the guy.

It's a very bad angle you guys are looking at. Hubacan didn't just fall flat on one spot. He was sliding forward. Suarez's foot was never going to catch him if he didn't slide. And Lex he wasn't looking at the defender. You could see his eyes are fixed on the ball, but the angle is so bad it makes everything look like it's happening in one vertical spot.

And the second Suarez realized he had stepped on the guy, he took his off as quickly as he could. Sometimes you just have to forget his reputation and then judge him.

There's nothing wrong with the angle imo.

It's more the fact that they ultra slow-mo the gif. Suarez does have a glance at the defender but it was only for a second or two and wouldn't have known he was sliding forward. You could see the awkward position he's at when his left foot lands on the defender by looking at his right foot trying to reach the ball and his reaction after the incident.

Of course it's a bad angle. You can't even tell from this angle that Hubocan is sliding forward when he's on the ground. Suarez's foot would never have caught him if his body didn't continue sliding under his stride.
