Luiz vs Jones

Both remind me of first year colo

Luiz has the hair tho, so naturally it will absorb him with time and make him unstoppable like it does with Colo and Puyol

Was having a debate with my mate last night who's a scum fan, I kept on saying Jones is proper overrated and then he goes and scores the own goal

Jones is strange.

He dominated Drogba in the air last season one game I remember, but Ameobi killed him yesturday in the air. Zonalmarking reminded me of this...strange for that to happen, cant really expain why.

Also, on the ball, sometimes he looks very good, others, like yesturday, not so much. Newcastle high up the pitch, yet he is trying to run the ball out straight down the middle? Where is the finesse?

David Luiz isnt perfect, but I think he gets more stick then he deserves. If he makes a mistake, people are quick to get on him, but when he is flawless nobody really says anything.

Anyway, I prefer Luiz right now, he is more cultured with the ball while both are quite similar defensively.

I'm not that sure, at the moment. I'd have to go for Jones, because of a couple of things.

1. Jones' defensive issues at the moment seem more due to his lack of positional sense and forward going knack, as opposed to a lack of defensive ability. Luiz, on the other hand, often looks to be a clueless defender as a whole.

2. Jones is also capable of playing other positions as well. At the moment, I'd say that being a central defender is his third best position. He's currently better as a full back and central midfielder. I've yet to see any evidence, that at Chelsea, Luiz is capable in any positions.

I'd say Luiz. Out of the 2 he's more solid at Defending. Jones to me seems like he can play DM or SB better than he can play CB he's got the Technique and projection required to play DM and SB, anyway. David Luiz much more Defensively oriented and able to play SB as a Fullback on any side. His Marking's pretty tight and just as Strong as Jones IMO.

David Luiz has played leftback for Benfica, just fyi.

First time I ever saw Luiz was vs Liverpool as a LB & he was doing these crazy skills and the commentators was saying he was a CB I was like wtffffff

Jones is an amazing talent.
But his consistency is 0.

I choose Jones, A fit Jones would do wonders then an everyday average Luiz.
