I have tried to have a proper debate with you but you just evade it by saying Italy sucks, Cassano is overrated, Dempesy is the second coming of Gerd Muller etc. Your intention here is to troll. We are not interested in your deluded opinions.
I have strong suspicions this is jerrytexas, who used to be in goal.com lithium and is arguably the biggest troll in goal.com history.
Troll'o meter...weak.
Dempsey is not the new Muller, he is just A LOT better than Cassano. Deal with it.
And why? Because Italians are overrated boooyeahhhhhhhhh
BTW are you jerrytexas?

Locking temporarily, I'll re-open it when I wake up in the morning. I don't like doing this but I think we'll live without a further discussion of Astori for 12 hours.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
In anybody watching the U17 WC? Looks to me the US is off to a nice start 3-0 against the Czech. This is how Czech Republic qualified for the tourny...

Wasn't it your friend troll Giancarlo who was saying that Americans have nothing and that Italy is so superior?

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
Give it a rest dude, everything you post is irrelevant to the topic .
Astori is imo far better suited to be 4th or 3rd choice Cb for us. The example dosto provided of Thiago's career is a great example of how with the right conditions and tutalage a promising Cb could turn out be to become Wc.
Astori is young still, Thiago is 2/3 years his senior within that time frame he could become even better, stronger and more experienced.
Tbh i though Gooch initially was a good buy because he possessed some attributes that some of our Cb's lacked, physical presence and strong header of the ball. But he didn't adapt really well, and constant injuries meant he never got fit enough to start games.
Right now I'd prefer Astori over Gooch in our backline, the strength of a defense is in its ability to communicate and work together effectively. It's not about individual ability its about who works the best when paired together, Astori would adapt, and climatise better than Gooch in our backline, also the fact that Astori has a full season of Serie A under his belt effectively puts him ahead of Gooch.
The only way i see Gooch breaking into the Squad is proving himself of far greater individual quality than Nesta and Mexes, but alas i don't see that happening as he seems far likely to have reached his potential already.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
I'm saying right now there is no room for Onyewu, if the American supporters want him to play a lot to play with the National team than Milan is not the place for him. He should go anywhere that's Mid/Lower table in any of the top leagues if you want him to get play time. Let's be real here, Nesta, Silva, Mexes, Yepes, Bonera and possibly Astori are all ahead of him, there is no chance he would play. I'd take Legrottaglie over him.

I think I gotta agree now that its 99% we're getting astori. With legro, astori, and yepes as backups, we really don't need anyone else.
On astori, I think he should come, as long as he understands he will only play when yepes, silva, and nesta are all unavailable, as these three are unquestioningly his superior. If he's fine with that, then by all means, come. Also the tassoti effect is likely to improve him a lot. It's a good move as even if he doesn't play much this season, he'll improve a lot and in 2012-13, he;ll probably be a starter with nesta and yepes gone, so its best to prepare him from now.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
Legrottaglie's been released and I would take Onyewu over him - partly because he offers something different to Yepes and partly due to age - however Onyewu needs game time somewhere. In the old forum I said that Arsenal should have grabbed him, though given his injuries I think his time has past for both clubs. Someone will want him however.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
I think its in his best interest to move back to the US and play in the MLS, Gooch has good character but his Milan adventure never got going, its best we part ways no room for him in our Squad.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
I doubt any will, he'll survive the exodus, strange how players like him manage to stay under the radar for so long.
Some "might" have faith that he "might" turn it around next season.
I am not one of those very few..

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
I am glad to announce that the new Nesta, aka Astori, has been let go by Milan and he is now fully part of Cagliari which is where he belongs.
So Gooch will remain to work his way up behind Nesta and Silva. It's possible that we will see Gooch and Nesta finally paired up in pre-season since Silva and Mexes won't be available.

That's more that can be said about Onyewu since he wasn't even given one game.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
This is bad news but i still don't expect onyewu to remain at milan whether astori arrives or not.
I also think it'd be nesta-bonera for the pre season. Still no chance for onyewu yet

That would be hilarious if Allegri actually was a donkey enough to put Bonera on the field ahead of Onyewu.

Re: Astori In. Bonera Out.
I would play onyewu and allow him to play for some of the games in pre season, he deserves it because he showed his loyalty before when he was playing for free(i guess) but if he doesnt do well then i would prefer if we would sell him.
As for astori, as long as either bonera or leggrotigale are out, i wouldnt mind him arriving since he is young and can have enough potential to be a great player especially under Milan's staff.

I'm not really that bummed over the issue. On the old forums I kept saying we don't need him he was just like Papa IMO.

It's bitter sweet, he will be playing a lot more at Cagliari, but I hate to see him leave on a permanent deal
