Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Cassetti seems to be on his way to Dubai. Simplicio could still be useful, but Enrique doesn't seem to think so. Perrotta still has his spot on the team, while Okaka is also definitely leaving in January.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
dubai?! really, i thought they only go for past legends like cannavaro juninho etc. no offense to cassetti
but still, that would be a really good move for a 34 year old. dubai is an awesome city (i've always wanted to go), and he'll be paid better wages than serie A can afford
okaka we dont really need anymore because we already fulfilled the UEFA homegrown quota. even if totti retires, we still have ddr, greco, rosi, and curci
god forbid if ddr leaves in january, we might have to hang onto okaka though

We have others coming up, like Viviani. The homegrown quota isn't really an issue for us since we have a pretty good youth system that keeps launching promising players.
As for Cassetti, sure he'll be getting the cash, but he'll also be wiped off the face of the earth Cannavaro-style. Not a big fan of old timers moving there just for the money (no offense to the city of course). But that being said, it's rather difficult for them to stick around in Serie A once they're way past it unless they play for a side fighting relegation.

we have enough CB's already. 4, all capable of starting. we need to sell some CB's first before we buy more
We have 4 very average CB's.
Juan is always injured, and will most probably be leaving in the winter transfer market.
Kjaer is to inexperienced..
Henize is a LB playing CB.
Burdisso is the only decent Cb that we have and at times even he can be dodgy..
New CB and RB is what we need in January..
God why didn't we go for Silvestre ..he would'vs have been perfect for us..Only cost Palermo 8 mill, read something funny a few weeks back, the Catania director said he offered Silvestre to Roma but was told that we didn't have the money
But yet,we had money for Osvaldo ...

I also think we need a CB and another good wingback. I would love for them to be Schelotto and Bocchetti.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Don't think Juan would leave this winter. He has said he will see out his contract and then return to Flamengo.
I think the CBs we have our fine. I would like to get an extra one so that Heinze can serve as the primary backup for Jose Angel at LB. We shouldn't have be using our full-backs as CBs. That should be an emergency measure and it's been far too common this season.

i don't think we even play fullbacks, we play wingbacks
heinze wouldn't do well in such an attacking position. he doesnt have the stamina, speed, or the technique

Some decent players up for grabs. The fist one who comes to mind is Schelotto who can play anywhere on the right, and the next one who caught my eye was Miccoli, been a fan of this guy for a long time while I know's he getting on I still think he could offer us that bit extra in attack. That ofc depends if we're to get rid of Borriello and Okaka in January.

LORIAAAAA, Enrique would love him, has a better goal/attempt ratio than Osvaldo.
Some interesting names on that list, namely Schelotto and Astori who may be of interest to us.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I had said my preferance would be Schelotto and Bocchetti but after seeing that list Astori and Schelotto would be great especially for free. However its very likely that the better players in that article will have new contracts soon.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Exactly, goal.com jumped the gun a bit on that one. I mean, we, Milan and a few other teams have some important players with expiring contracts, but I'm sure in a month from now that list will be a lot smaller.

Chilean media reporting that Roma are offering 16 million for Mauricio Isla.
Seems a little to high, but then again Udinese boss inflates player value:)

Great news,I hope there's some truth to it.
It's high, but it would be money well spent.I rate him as one of the best RB'S in the world.
We are also trying to get rid of some of the bums in the January so that should help towards the Isla transfer.

I'd be ecstatic if we were able to get Isla for that price...I'm with Dave on this, he is one of the premier RB's in the world.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I know Dave's gotta be happy with the Isla news. He's been touting him even when we weren't linked with him lol. Nice to see your perseverence payoff, old friend.
I just hope there's some substance to this report this time. If we're going to get him (and we really do need him) then we need to splash the cash at Udinese and get him. They are not going to make it to the CL knockouts, they are punching above their weight in the league and their owner's a selling man's selling man.
The stars are perfectly aligned for us to get Isla and add another piece of our back 4.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I'm pretty sure Sabatini wanted him this summer but wasn't willing to spend the money on him just yet. We were so close to getting him before the last World Cup for cheaper, but Udinese definitely knew that he would develop further, as he did.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I think it would be an investment worth making. We're already going to free up money by selling off some players who have nothing left to offer. Isla would fit in perfectly to Enrique's set-up. His price tag is high, but I think it would be worth it.

Bonucci would be a very good signing but I doubt Juve will let him go.
Never heard of the other 2.
