Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I hope we sign a Sandro/Fernando type player in January or next year, a solid CM and a RB and were set.

Bastos signed a new deal with Lyon so I don't think he's leaving any time soon.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I dont think signing new contracts means he wont be leaving they just a way ensuring selling clubs (Spurs and Lyon) get a decent fee.Suarez signed a new contract in summer but then demanded to join us in January.
I think if Roma are in CL spots come january and Spurs arent anywhere near top 4 in PL then Roma have a good chance of signing him imo (that is if Roma are really interested ).

According to calciomercato.com, Roma have taken Gianluca Curci off the transfer market after listening to Franco Tancredi, who trained the keeper from a very young age.

And Tancredi would know a thing or two about such things, given his own career as one of our few, but truly great keepers. Always liked Curci and I still maintain that he shouldn't be riding the pine. Guy is good enough and has proved for not one, but two different clubs. I honestly think we're doing him a disservice.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
"ROBERTO MANCINI is poised to go back in for Daniele De Rossi with an £8million bid in January.
Manchester City boss Mancini was blaming a lack of midfielders after seeing his side blow a 2-0 lead in Sunday's draw at Fulham.
And now he is set to return for Roma's Italian international when the transfer window reopens in January.
Mancini fancied anchorman De Rossi in the summer but City's paymasters were keen to balance the books after signing Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri for a combined £59m.
But SunSport understands Mancini has received encouraging signals from his Italian contacts that tough-tackling De Rossi, out of contract next year, is refusing to sign a new deal — and that he has had his head turned by City.
Roma put a £25m price tag on the player and in the summer Mancini said: "De Rossi would be absolutely perfect.I rate him one of the best midfielders in the world."
It was previously thought De Rossi would never leave the Italian capital but Roma are refusing to be held to ransom over his demands for £170,000 a week."

^ and Azpilicueta.
I think it's safe to say that our next acquisition, whenever it takes place, will be a right back.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
I actually don't mind Vagner Love...he's a good striker when he's motivated. Very clinical.
Just don't like all the baggage he could bring with him. Signing an unhappy striker is in itself a risky move...there's always a risk we could end up being a second CSKA for VL if moves here.

Isla would be wonderful, as he can play in midfield too. I would also look into the situation of Carloz Tevez.

tevez is too unstable, unmotivated, and he would have to be paid more than de rossi and totti

Then motivate him. Mancini managed that last season and we all saw the outcome. Who cares about the wages.. we are rich

lol i wouldn't say we're rich. we're not mancity, or barca, or RM, not even PSG
the outcome for mancity now is they're stuck with a highly paid player on the bench because no want can buy him/afford his wages

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Tevez would contradict our whole transfer policy. We're not going to risk so much money on a player like that. Good player, but not one we're in the market for.
Fucile's name came back up recently, to add on to Van der Wiel and Azpilicueta.
And Vagner Love, no thanks...

Fucile was the best full back in the WC imo, but kinda disappeared after that
i prefer isla or fucile over vdw and the spaniard
although azpil + angel could work well in tandem.... azpil's also the cheaper option. cant wait to hear carlos zampa try to pronounce his name when he scores

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
My personal preference is Fucile....big fan of him imo...he was fantastic for Uruguay last summer at the WC...injury with Porto really hindered his form and career last season, but he's still highly-rated and we'd do well to get him.

Very solid in defence as well which is what we need.Don't know how much he would cost though but I'm sure he wouldn't cost as much as Isla.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
A few rumors circulating again today, with Quagliarella being the center of attention. The Juve striker is being linked to us, with Sabatini on his trail. Internacional's Damiao is also being linked to us. And... (this is for you Dave)... Mauricio Isla's agent confirmed today that his client is attracted by the possibility of joining Roma, but such a move will only happen as of next June if it does. Same goes for Werder Bremen's Marko Marin.
Meanwhile, Stefano Okaka might be on his way out in January as he is struggling to break into the first team.
