Is "Lapboard" some kind of foreign language for "greatest midfielder in Premier League history"?Epoto wrote:did Chelsea ask Lapboard to find himself another team at transfers

Lampard won't be sold. We'll either let the contract run out or he will retire with us.

Alright, enough dilly-dallying around, Mr. A. Time to give Super Frank the new contract he deserves.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
I really, really hope they're not thinking about letting him go, the knobhead lot of Buck & Gourlay. Even after he's(reportedly) told the club he's willing to take a £50K paycut(down to £100K). If he isn't given a 2 year contract then I don't.....I don't........
Let's just see how it pans out.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
Just one of many disgraceful decisions by this classless board and owner. I genuinely fear for us if he goes through with axing Lamps and Cole. Where's the leadership, experience, behind-the-scenes influence, etc. going to come from? Who will be the players in this team in a few years time that actually care about the club? Abramo filling the squad with a bunch of foreign mercs who couldn't care less about Chelsea will get us nowhere. That he and his lackeys on the board are oblivious to this basic element of building and nurturing a successful team is alarming. Next up is JT, you watch. His contract is up at the end of next season, 10 quid says he won't be offered a new one.
Clueless, classless, disgraceful, the whole lot of them.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
I think the way this is going to pan out is that he'll be offered a new contract but that'll be at the end of the season.
Whatever, I don't care. As far as he doesn't leave. Cole too! Are we really going to throw Bertrand to the dogs like that? He hasn't got a clue atm.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
You think so? I'm not so confident. I'm convinced by now he'll be off in May tbh .
Cole is also a huge mystery; probably even more so than Lamps honestly. He's 31 FFS, what exactly is the motive for not offering him more than a 1 year contract (going solely on media reports, of course)?? This whole thing is just ridiculous and infuriating. He has no problem kissing Torres' ass, paying him the highest wages in the squad, forcing the manager du-jour to play him regardless of form, spending almost £100,000,000 on players in and attempt to get his useless ass to look competent again, firing and hiring managers specifically for him, etc., yet when it comes to renewing the contract of a Chelsea hero and quite probably its greatest player ever, and re-signing one of the best left-backs on the planet currently, he's nowhere to be found. He's utterly clueless.

Whoever brought up this new club policy of not offering players over the age of 30 more than a one year contract deserves to lose his job.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
The whole lot of them should lose their jobs. Gourlay, Buck, Emenalo, that shady Tenenbaum figure, Bobby Campbell, etc. The running of the club is an absolute joke. As I've maintained, the only reason we've avoided becoming a complete shambles and as a team have managed to stay successful over the last 5 or 6 years despite the owner's fecklessness and constant chopping and changing is the consistency and stability within the core group of players in the dressing room, built around JT, Lamps, Drogs, and a few others - the real rock and foundation of the club as it were. Now that they're trying to do away with that as swiftly and definitively as they can, we're headed for trouble. We've already seen it, when JT and Lamps were both out in the Oct/Nov/Dec period, the team looked rudderless and soulless. Will only get worse as they do away with the entire core of this side.Blue Barrett wrote:Whoever brought up this new club policy of not offering players over the age of 30 more than a one year contract deserves to lose his job.
In the end, it's Roman who has to change. He's not done himself any favours with the supporters now whatsoever. First axing Robbie very unfairly and for no reason at all after quite literally saving our asses last season and giving us the greatest night in the club's history, to now getting rid of the club's greatest player ever in the most cold and undignified way possible, possibly letting Cole off with him as well, and who knows what else is to come. He runs the club like a video game then throws money at whatever problems he and his impetuosity, petulance and absurdly unrealistic expectations create. Yes he pours money into the club and yes he's at just about every game and everything, and we're all very grateful for that, but overall, he couldn't care less about the supporters, and has shown that when it comes to the things that matters to them the most, he's deeply and profoundly out of touch. It's just getting very tiring and very old.

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
I'm no big fan of SAF, but when it comes to keeping heroes at the club hes top class at it, hes still got Scholes and Giggs there who are well and truly past it, and in his last few seasons Garry Nevile made Bossingwa look like Danni Alves and still SAF started him pretty much every week. As scummy as SAF is, in that department, hes really is class, the club could learn something about class (and a few other things too) from him.
imo Cole is already well and truly gone, Bertrand will start next season and PVA will play as second choice, plus Dave can play LB too. As for Lampard, i really do hope he is allowed to stay at the club for a long long time, but im not hopeful

Re: Sir Frank Lampard
As i think about the Cole situation a bit more maybe with the arrival of Wallace maybe Dave will get switched to first choice LB (i beleive he can play there) where he can rotate with Bertrand and Wallace and Ivanovic can rotate the RB place. It would leave us a bit think in the middle though as we'd only have Luiz, JT and Cahill as in this situation Ivanovic would be starting pretty much ever game at RB untill Wallace settled in wich would be at least half a season, although probabyl more
