Re: The Press Room
OFFICIAL: Barça sign Alexis Sánchez
FC Barcelona and Udinese have reached an agreement on the transfer of Alexis Sánchez. The deal is for 5 years. The cost of the transfer is 26 million with variable cost of 11.5 million.
Bartomeu: "The variables depend on trophies won by the team, minutes played by Alexis, and Barcelona qualifying for 1/8 finals CL."
The 22 year old Chilean player is coming to Barça from the Italian club Udinese, where he’s played for the last three seasons. Last season he was voted best player in Serie A, after scoring 12 goals in 31 games.
This summer (of 2011) he’s been playing in the Copa America for his country’s national team, who were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Venezuela. Alexis played a total of four games in which he scored 1 goal and where he was chosen MVP in two of the matches.
Dazzled in Italy
After his debut in the 2008/09 season with Udinese, where he played 95 games, the last two seasons have been the most prolific in terms of his play and goals. Last season he scored 12 goals, 4 of them in the same game, and has been sought by the best teams in the world. However, he has been strongly committed to playing for Barça.

OFFICIAL: Bojan, transferred to AS Roma
FC Barcelona and AS Roma have reached an agreement for the sale of Bojan Krkic for 12 million euros. The player will be giving a press conference at 13.30 in the Ricard Maxenchs pressroom at the Camp Nou.
The Italian outfit will pay 12 million for the player and the agreement includes an obligatory repurchase clause to be exercised by FC Barcelona at the end of the 2012/13 season, for a cost of 13 million.
This purchase can be blocked by AS Roma, but in such a case the overall cost of the transfer will rise to 40 million euros.

Roma reveal Bojan details
Roma have revealed the financial details of the Bojan Krkic deal, including the fact Barcelona can buy him back for €17m in 2012.
Initial reports of the move surprised many and the statement released by the Giallorossi this afternoon brought further clarity.
“A.S. Roma S.p.A. announce a contract with Barcelona to buy player Bojan Krkic Perez for €12m, to be paid before July 1 2013.
“As part of this agreement, Barcelona have an exclusive option to buy back the player at a cost of €17m in 2011-12 or €13m in 2012-13, to be paid in two instalments on January 31 and May 31 2014.
“This option to buy back is mandatory for Barcelona for the second season, but includes a counter-option for Roma to maintain rights to his sporting performances.
“Roma’s option is to be taken up by June 20 2013 for another €28m to be paid in three instalments on July 1 2013, January 31 2014 and July 31 2014.
“As for the player, he has agreed a four-year contract which expires on June 30 2015 worth €3.2m for 2011-12 and 2012-13, then €6.3m from 2013-14 to 2014-15, in addition to individual performance-related bonuses.”
It seems this statement actually means that Bojan will receive a total of €3.2m wages over the two campaigns, so €1.6m per season.
If Roma make the move permanent, he’ll double his wages to €3.15m per season.

Re: The Press Room
Four years of precocity and goals
Bojan Krkic is leaving FC Barcelona after having been brought up through the Barça youth and reserve teams, and having played four seasons with the first team. He’s scored 41 goals and has broken down several barriers of precocity.
With the transfer of Bojan Krkic , the youngest player in the squad in recent years, the number 9 is leaving Barça. The Barça forward, promoted to the first team in Frank Rijkaard’s last year, and consolidated under Guardiola, is leaingthe club with 41 goals scored (26 in the League, 9 in the Cup, 5 in the Champions League and 1 in the Spanish Super Cup) in a total of 163 matches.
The first goal, at 16 years of age
After passing through all the categories of the club starting with the Under 12’s, who he joined during the 1999/00 season, Bojan Krkic made the giant leap into the first team in the summer of 2007. It was Frank Rijkaard who had confidence in him, when he was only 17. His unofficial debut, however, had been before that in a friendly in Egypt, when he was 16. That day he scored.
Records of precocity
His scoring efficiency helped make him one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2007-08 season. He scored 10 goals in the League in his first year and 2 more in the Cup. With the number 27 on his shirt, Bojan set new records, like being the youngest player to debut in the Champions League with Barça (17 years and 22 days old), the second-youngest goalscorer in the history of the Champions League (17 years and 217 days) and the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Club (17 years, one month and 22 days). His first goal in the league was at Villarreal on October 20th, 2007.
Protagonist in the Cup
In Guardiola’s first year as coach, Bojan become one of the key players in the Spanish Cup. In this competition, the striker is one of the most decisive players and scored a total of five goals, including one in the Final in Valencia against Athletic Bilbao. Bojan, then wearing number 11, was part of the treble winning team at only 18 years of age.
Decisive in the 2009/10 League
The season 2009/10, with Ibrahimovic as the other striker, Bojan played a more secondary role until the final stretch of the season, when he became a key player. His goals against Villarreal and Sevilla were crucial in helping the team to the second consecutive League title..
The 2010/11 season saw fewer goals from Bojan (just 7). However, he played more games than in 2009/10 and established himself as one of Josep Guardiola preferred options, coming off the bench. An unfortunate injury during the game against Almeria in April meant that he missed the decisive stretch in the League, and the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. His last goal as a Barça player, his41st, came in the away game in Malaga, from the penalty spot.

Agreement with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
FC Barcelona, la Fundació FC Barcelona and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have announced a three year collaboration deal to help in the worldwide fight against polio.
Bill Gates, Co-President of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, together with the FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell and first team coach Josep Guardiola, announced the agreement this Thursday at The Newseum in Washington, DC. Players Andrés Iniesta and Seydou Keita were also present.
Eradication of polio
The first year of the collaboration will centre on the eradication of polio, an illness which has been greatly reduced due to improvement in life saving vaccines. In the past the illness affected millions of children all over the world, but is now basically restricted to Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“More than a goal, let’s get rid of polio”
FC Barcelona, with more than 18 million Facebook friends and millions of followers on Twitter has committed itself to encouraging its followers on the social networks to support the campaign and will also use publicity at the Camp Nou to highlight the importance of eradicating the disease through child vaccination to save millions of lives. In order to channel the fans’ support, Barça will use the slogan “More than a goal, let’s get rid of polio”, in a clear reference to the Club’s motto –“More than a Club”.
The collaboration with the Gates Foundation will allow images and videos of the Barça team to be used in the campaign. Both parts will combine their resources to finance the marketing and promotional activities at no cost to the campaign.

Official: Sporting Lisbon secure Barcelona's Jeffren for €3.7m
The Portuguese giants continue their summer transfer spree with the addition of the Spanish winger, who was out of favour at the La Liga champions
Jeffren
Winger
Fee: €3.7 million
Contract: Jun 2016
From Barcelona To Sporting Lisbon
Sporting Lisbon have announced to the Portuguese stock market (CMVM) they have signed Barcelona winger Jeffren for €3.7 million.
The 23-year-old midfielder has penned a five-year contract with the Portuguese club, with a €30m buy-out clause inserted into the deal.
Sporting have revealed that Barcelona will be entitled to 20 per cent of the profit of a future sale of Jeffren, with no mention of a buy-back clause for the Catalan club, which had been suggested by the Portuguese media over the last few days.
Jeffren, a product of Barcelona's youth ranks, has opted for a new challenge after being told he would have little room to operate at the Camp Nou in the new season.
The Spain Under-21 international has become Sporting's 14th signing this summer, and the second Spaniard to arrive at the Estadio do Alvalade in the transfer window, following the acquisition of Sevilla's Diego Capel for €3.5m last month.

The Portuguese giants continue their summer transfer spree with the addition of the Spanish winger, who was out of favour at the La Liga champions

It is believed that Jeffren will immediatelly join up with the rest of the team as they will participate in the Ramon de Carranza trophy at the weekend, together with Cadiz, Malaga and Udinese.
