Wonder why Real don't sign Cancelo, he's a class player regardless of his problems with Pep and Carvajal/Lucas seems pretty worn out. They're also thin at LB unless they keep Camavinga there and Cancelo looks natural on both sides, I was sure Perez would snap him up quickly.

A better question is why did he hardly play for Bayern Munich?

I guess because they are deep on both sides and he's a loanee who was never going to stay for 70 million. He played well when he was on for the couple of games that I've seen. Confidence was there, was his usual self more or less.

They have Pavard, Stanisic and Kimmich on the right, Davies, Lucas and Blind on the left, not sure why they even needed Cancelo.

Couple of things

1. His agent is Mendes and the relationship between him and Perez is completely gone after the shit he and CR7 pulled when he was sold to Juve. Since then Perez has pretty much blacklisted every Mendes related player

2. The fact 2 top clubs don't want him when he's obviously a top tier RB. Bayern might have depth but Cancelo is easily better than Pavard and Kimmich at the RB position. He certainly starts there, but his attitude problems are very apparent. Neither club wants to deal with it

I dont think Barca are In a position to consider his personal problems. They need a RB desperately so they'll disregard his issues and go for him.

We need a RB too, but we currently have 3 on payroll that we can't sell. I hope we go for one next summer because the market for RBs is thin

Wasn't aware of the agent stuff, but saying Bayern didn't want him is a stretch. Why would they sign someone they didn't want? They wanted him, but not for 70 million. As for the attitude, I didn't hear anything that bad. Pep has his principles and if anyone behaves outside of his preferences, he's done. He doesn't like ego's and that's fine. But most players have them.

Let's get real here. Cancelo threw a bit of a fit cause he was benched and suddenly he's worse than the Kariminal.

Tbf none of these issues were directly football related or involved real Madrid.

@vibe I assure that if Benz behaved the way he did at Real madrid the same way he did with France, Perez would kick him out in heartbeat and we would've seen Suarez/Lewa in white in the mid 2010s. That being said Cancelos issue seems to be football related. Idk anything specific but it's a huge red flag that 2 top clubs don't want to sign him when he's a top tier RB. Bayern had a purchase option for the loan and didn't exercise it, even if it was 70 million.

I was one of the few that was upset that we did not go for Cancelo in the winter given Carvajals decline and no capable backups. There's no harm in a 6 month loan, but now it's different since Cancelo wants a full transfer.

Imo hell go to Barca and might turn his attitude around. Xavi isn't someone to mess around with.

No one was even expecting him to stay at Bayern, who buys a 29 year old fullback for 70 million, that was never within the realm of possibility.

I just think that Cancelo is better than any fullback Real have by a margin, so I was surprised they weren't even interested. Now I guess we know why.

Great signing for Barca anyway, if it goes through, you never know with Barca finances these days.

Honestly think Man City bid for Rice just to spike the price for Arsenal and make it harder for them. They bid £90m knowing West Ham will ask for more than 100, now Arsenal offer £105m.

I expect more movements to get the fee close to £120, and no way he's worth that much. PL tax is insane.

I dont think we will have this problem after all. We need to sell players and Cancelo's economic demands are inflated. I was hoping for a loan but that seems like a long-shot

However, finally Saudis are shifting their focus onto our deadwood and are readying an offer for Kessie hopefully providing us with much need influx of cash.

There are other players on the exit ramp but it will take time and may still not be enough since City want a 50m+ fee on top of a high salary, maybe that's for the best though

@myesyats, I really hope Arsenal know what they are doing. If they really outbid city to get Rice, absolutely ruthless and in my opinion, that is what is required. I honestly don't think Rice is worth that much. The main point of continuing to be ruthless is, if Rice does not perform to the expected level, they should be in a position to replace him with another smart or costly signing. Rice should help them, but was Arsenal's midfield so bad last season ? Interesting story to unfold

Rice at best is probably worth 80 mil, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I do believe he is the best and most complete 6 in the league, the numbers consistently back it up, hopefully he can show it now on a bigger stage.

Chelsea is where talents go to die and Arteta is a visionary and knows what he wants and if he gets the best out of him you have a generational talent in your hands and one who could be a superstar. Rice doesn't even come close in raw talent.
