Perisic would have left Inter only for a Premier League club and the call arrived

Good strategy to win the PL, but faced against sides with quality it will hurt them.

Reports suggest we are closing in on Dembele. Obviously he is seriously talented, but I am worried that he did not do anything at Barca for 4.5 seasons. Hopefully he has matured, rather motivated by a big contract move.

He has not matured one bit but for free it's a no brainer. He's a great player regardless, if he can mantain fitness.

is Cucurella good? always wondered why we let him go for peanuts, another big brain move as it turns out.

That is what I alluded to, Pep basically is building an OP offensive team that will win the PL over 38 games. But come CL knockout stage, you have to be more balanced.

I don't necessarily know if that's true. They won 4-3 in the first leg against us. In the second leg, I assume most people would agree that they looked like the better team. Even if someone doesn't agree, the stats will likely tell you that they created more chances. They lost because we were more effective in offense than they were, and it was the same against Liverpool.

I only watched Cucurella when he played for Getafe. He was a thug of the highest order. Can't defend for shite. Does not lack effort in attack though but 40M GBP that's crazy

According to Bild Bayern fear that Lewa might use the Webster rule in order to buy himself out of his contract. His last year is worth 24ME which is cheaper than the 50ME they are quoting.

Would be hilarious if Barca got Lewa to resort to using this loophole

He has improved a lot. His stamina and tenacity are both of the highest level. Won't be surprised if Pep uses him as a CM.

forcing clubs to be responsible instead of seeing them sink the league into debt? It’s better to be stringent with those clubs now then wait until it’s too late.

Valencia can push some younger players forward and if they lose their standing in the league, well, another club that worked better will take their place

Depends if they buy players with debt or investment... very different.

La Liga should go the way Ligue 1 has done... ask owners to put financial guarantees in place. you can do that any way you want. But it has to guarantee that the contracts and transfers being made have real money behind them that don't sink the club.

Financial engineering isn't a black and white exercise. Having proper risk management is the key.
