The 2021/22 Season

Yea honestly a lot of today's match reminded me of Arsene days when we struggled to break deep block. It wasn't a bad display by any means and winning away to Burnley is never an easy task. We were winless there for the last 3 times iirc.

I liked Odegaard's role today. I don't see why he can't be transformed into a 'Kroos'. He took some interesting positions today and often deeper than Partey. He is an intelligent player. If Arteta can coach him into being more disciplined then we just need ESR to be more consistent with his displays as a 10.

bit worried about Saka. I don't think he has recovered mentally or physically after the Euros. It might be worth starting Martinelli at LW for a bit.

Saka's not playing his best role imo. I think him and Pepe should swap sides.

But not surprising since he didn't have much of a pre-season and he's back to starting in the PL. The sharpness isn't there yet.

remember i called this drop of form for Saka due to fatigue when he got his Euro call up... he just needs an extended rest... pity Martinelli is out of form as well, but he has to get game time one way or another anyway so i say play him

Really liked ramsdale's and Tomiyasu's performance, think we missed Xhaka, esp in 2nd half when we needed to control the game

All our attackers except for Odegaard played poorly but at least we got the 3 points.

Odegaard needs at least 3 players ahead of him to give him some forward passing options. So either our wide players play more as forwards instead of midfielders, or Odegaard plays deeper.

Also want to see Lacazette get some game time.

Reading online commentary, Is the radio as bad or are we doing nothing? Would have hoped we would be able to score more than 1 against a 3rd division team.

It sounds like a good game to miss. Arsenal working the ball into wide areas but not producing much. Likes of Cedric and AMN just being black holes going forward. Not a lot of shots on goal. Wimbledon not doing much either.

Smith Rowe has just come on for Partey.

Tbf we've had plenty of cup games like this over the years. Always expect to score a few against lower league teams but making so many changes can make the game cagey.

Well hopefully kronke loses his lawsuit in the states and is forced to sell.

Looks like 4-2-3-1 for us. Xhaka-Partey double pivot, ESR on the left.

Not as risky a starting eleven but expected for a big game.
