A good tie for France. I don't think the Swiss have the firepower to find their way behind that French backline.

Actually the Swiss have good weapons for breaking the backline like France's: Longshots. Xhaka, Rodriguez, and Shaqiri are known for that if memory serves but let's see if they can even get to the front of the box comfortably enough for it. I still think France will choke out the Swiss attack and MBappe gonna make Swiss cheese out of the Swiss defense.

This will be a thoroughly easy match for France not even worth analysing.

France has a problem at left-back. Digne is out and Lucas Hernandez is a question, although he practiced today.

There's talk of playing a 352 with Rabiot as the left wingback and bringing Griezmann into the midfield as the 10. Not great to have to try a new tactic in the elimination rounds of a Euro.

It's really dumb given the injury history of Hernandez not to carry an extra fullback there... and we have a ton of them namely Ferland Mendy and Theo Hernandez. In Theo's case, he could have playedd winger too.

Sports, France could start Benzema as LB and you'll be fine. This is ez pz and you know it lol.

Put Griezmann as LB. He has the legs for it.

Swiss cheese defence with lots of holes for Benzema & Co. to slot in won't be a problem for France.

Yeah hindsight and all that. And also, who would've thought their 2 LBs are gonna be both injured. Most teams only bring 2 LBs and RBs, England with 3 (could be 4 with TAA) RBs are exception due to their massive number of good RBs. There's also Portugal who only called 3 CBs and a hell lot of DMs and Wingers/AMs who're not used at all

Even still, bringing Lucas Digne over Theo and Ferland Mendy was a stupid choice. Those two are leagues above Digne as a player.

Yeah I agree, having two Hernandez is better than having two Lucas at LB. But I remember @sportsczy the frenchman can rationalize that decision. Like, having Digne is more reasonable than having Sissoko for example, he's quite a serviceable leftback with good delivery. He's worse than Theo and Ferland, but he's actually a good LB

Theo refused to play for France right before U20 WC... literally went on vacation and forgot to tell the coaching staff he wasn't going to go (the summer he was transferred to Real Madrid).  Everyone was wondering where he was until he posted a pic of himself on the beach lol.  Since then, he's been on the black list.  

Mendy was injured I believe.

France (3-4-1-2): Lloris; Varane, Lenglet, Kimpembe; Pavard, Pogba, Kante, Rabiot; Griezmann; Benzema, Mbappe.

Switzerland (3-4-1-2): Sommer; Elvedi, Akanji, Rodriguez; Widmer, Freuler, Xhaka, Zuber; Shaqiri; Seferovic, Embolo.

Having no left back forces France to play 3 at the back, matching Switzerland's formation. Or will they play 4 at the back with Kimpembe at the left?

France feels lethargic, the right intensity is missing. It's as if the game stands 0-0 or 1-0 for France. I don't get why Swiss fullbacks get so much room left and right. Someone isn't doing their defensive work.

Cross --> header --> goal. You love to see it.

Mbappe, Benzema, Griezmann as a narrow front three doesn't work. None of them create much and they just crowd each other out.
