You ever watch a passage of play and realise that something stupid was gonna happen? That was Valladolid's equaliser. I just knew they were gonna equalise the way we passed the ball. So lackadasical, so lethargic, like we thought this was done and dusted.

The draw is fine but I wish we had a Mendy version on the right as Carvajal has regressed to Arbeola levels. Also, can Zidane stop with the Vini on the right nonsense? He clearly has no left foot and certainly is David Beckham esque in his ability on the ball.

Problem with vini isn't left or right side... it's his damn decision making.

Decision making is pretty bad for Vini but putting a play with no left foot and trying to cut inside is also bad decision making from Zidane, whom out of all the people, should know better.

Carvajal regressed immensely. Such a shame at one point he was the top of his position.

Also, we really missed a midfielder who can create and carry the ball forward once Isco was subbed. Perez screwed up for not listening to Zidane on getting a midfielder and focusing on Neymar

I don't know if you've noticed, but someone clearly wanted us to spend this transfer market chasing after Pogba's signature and ruling out all other midfield options in the process. The 'public' interest in Neymar didn't even occur until just recently. Ndombele was mentioned a few times on here, and he picked up an injury in their last match, but he had a great debut for Tottenham. Could've been our solution to an aging and uninspired Modric.

Because Pogba is perhaps the best option on the type of midfielder we need. Instead, Perez wants to sign more attacking midfielders that do not offer anything different that Modric, Kroos and Isco currently do. (edit: we can add James here to. He had a decent game.)

Agree on Ndombele. Energy was certainly missing.

We obviously tried for Pogba, Utd simply did not budge from their asking price and we clearly didn't wanna pay it. Not sure why we didn't have an alternate plan but you can choose which one to blame as there are a slew of options to point fingers at lol.

Carvajal was great up till that moment for the goal.

But yea, the team needs a proper midfielder. Why they didn't go through on the Van de Beek deal is puzzling.

James was good, just needs game time.

Zidane purposely dropping points at home against Valladolid to give Barça an opportunity to catch up, thereby making the league more exciting and competitive.

When James was in there, we had some midfield creativity....  so although not ideal, i think our midfield can be fine given James getting into form.  Hazard brings a ton of creativity too.

Btw, we all forget that we don't have Hazard and he's our biggest attacking threat btw.

To me, a bigger issue is fullback on both sides.  Can't cross and can't defend.  Mendy should take care of one side...  but Carvajal but god awful.   Look where he is on the conceded goal and what happens in the space he leaves.  He's reckless.
