Carlo doesn't want to take risks with Ronaldo who is back in full training after he was forced to retire early vs Almeria due to a hamstring pull. Arbeloa is out due to yellow card accumulations and Cacktrao is still injured

Carlo: midfield and attack will be composed Madrid: Xabi, Modric, Bale, Di Maria, Benzema and Isco.

i think we will play a 4-2-3-1 tomorrow judging by that selection. it is good he is resting players because that will keep everyone happy and keep them all fresh whenever they are called upon

No need to risk Ronaldo although I'm sure he's near 100% anyway after he did some warm ups at the last training session. Still best avoid the nightmare scenario of playing him when he hasn't fully healed.

As for the game all I hope to see is Jese and Morata. Carlo pls, fulfil my wish.

Depends how the game goes. If by the early second half we have a comfortable lead I can see both Jese and Morata coming on along with Illaramendi

I know it is valladolid but This is the best real madrid match I have watched this year. It was a very complete match with everybody making accurate passes (except isco ) everybody pressing and attacking with so much energy. We actually kept that level of energy til 80 something minutes..what more can you ask for...

Man of the match to me was between modric and Alonso..Their combination was just orgasmic...best madrid midfield pairing in years...but the only problem is that Alonso would suffer in a high pressure match like he always does due to his lack of mobility..it showed a few times dey pressed him hard.... while modric always flourishes in those type of matches..

Now isco is making me miss ozil..
He just finds it so hard to release the ball and whenever he finally decides to pass, he does it so reluctantly like he was forced to pass.
He was d only odd one in the match in a match where everybody was playing quick one touch passes..
Imagine ozil in this match, constantly releasing passes and looking for a free attacker...cos with this type of attacking set up where the box 18 is constantly flooded with madrid players, the last thing we need is another player who wants to score..we need someone who only thinks about passing the ball...
I think I wud prefer jese as an attacking midfielder

I hate when they give carvajal a low rating..
That dude attacks with so much energy and gives precises cut-backs and he always runs back to his position as fast as possible and is also a tough defender to beat

I think ancelotti should make it customary to always put jese and morata in the last 30 to 20 minutes of every game..
Whenever they come on, they alwaysssss, they alwaysss create chances and have chances to score and due to their eagerness to impress, they also increase the tempo of the game either back to its default high state or even higher..

Now what we have is a dangerously dynamic and unpredictable team where we can pick different combinations of players to make up the first eleven and still expect a top class performance...

I don't think we would have kept up the pressing had Ozil played. Definitely prefer the way we are set up now. Ten brilliant hard workers rather than a talent with no fight

Arsenal are benefiting of his assists so I am glad he is happy

Modric is world-class and the best mid in Spain atm.

Great match, imagine only if Ronaldo played. Di Maria was incredible, so were Bale and Benzema. Marcelo was untouchable, his dribbling and passing were top notch. Xabi is irreplaceable, end off.

i would pick arbeloa over carvajal right now.

Don't know what people/coaches see in fking di magia, doing the same mistakes over and over again.

Even the last match he misplaced 100 passes playing on his "preferred" position.

He had like 10 crosses, all of them horrible off target, while bale and marcelo had just one cross and that was an assist, even carvajal made like 2 crosses which one of the dissallowed goal.

I just dont know what he has to do to be sold.

Di Maria was one of the best players on the pitch

Carlo Ancelotti identified Angel Di Maria as the key man behind Real Madrid's 4-0 thrashing of Valladolid on Saturday, despite Gareth Bale's superb hat-trick.

The Welshman was in devastating mood as he headed in his first of the night before adding the next two in the second period to seal his first treble for los Blancos, while he also set up Karim Benzema's strike with a stunning pass.

Di Maria is either very good or shite.

Di Maria is worthless against the better sides... he's a scrub killer. He should only be used as such. He doesn't have the brain to adapt when he's severely challenged by the opposition.

Di Maria does both good and bad things. He has this erratic random style. Sometimes his risky passes will come off, other times they won't.

He has top class through ball and crosses..very good dribbling skills as well. He dont have a short passing game though, he fails to successfully link up with any player. There is no player in our squad who has chemistry with Di Maria..why? because he has little to no link up play. He also have a very bad decision making, like when he tried to dribble in our own half instead of passing ( against Atleti) which resulted in lost ball and goal.

For a super sub he is definitely more than what we can ask for...but for a starter? he comes short.

Di Maria is a world class dribbler. What stops him from being the best winger in the world is his chicken brain.

i kind of agree with sportsczy, di maria like many on our team is a scrub killer (ozil was a scrub killer too, people like him but he underperformed against bigger sides, and by bigger sides i dont mean teams like kiev galatasaray lyon et al, cos tho theyre in ucl they r still pathetic teams)....but maria is a hard worker he'll get his chance....rumors of a morata/jese loan surfacing....frankly i wont mind it cos it'll mean room to get someone like falcao or suarez......benzema imo is a scrub killer as well, i dont see him doing well against a team like bayern in ucl

Benz is actually best against non-scrubs... his CL stats compared to his league stats show that. The issue was league play for him where he would lose interest. Seems that it's changing now. Against Bayern, he was the reason we got a chance late in the second leg with his goal and assist + general aggression. Did the same in the City game at Bernabeu during CL pool play too.

When you watch some of our big games, look for whether CR7 is trying to play hero footy or play as part of the team concept while still getting his own. He struggles with trying to do too much in these situations at times... hope that's gone this year. He's looked a lot more team-oriented this year (comparatively).

i am not even that convinced Di Maria is a great dribbler, he has great technique on the ball but he can hardly get passed players because of his slight physique.
