2018/19 Carabao League Cup
Yesterday Utd went out against Lampard's Derby County,
today Liverpool is playing Chelsea in the 3rd round of this cup.
Between Milner, Keita, Mané, Azpilicueta, Willian, Barkley, and others, there's loads of starters involved in this, while next to no youth prospects are given time.
So I never, NEVER, ever again want to hear PL coaches or fans complain about too many matches, and NEITHER about how difficult it is for youngsters to get time, when they don't take the opportunity to use this Mickey Mouse Cup in the one way that would make it purposeful, to use youngsters.

I can also report that Fabinho, while he is somehow taller than I seem to remember, has been rather poor.
Keite is his usual spectacular and hotheaded self. I would bet he'll get into red card trouble sooner rather than later,

Right. Not really ever consciously heard of them or processed hearing of them though theyre upper midtable in Championship

Chelsea did well to settle and dictate play but Liverpool catching up. Sturridge and Fabinho been disappointing. Can see why Klopp took his time to start Fabinho, he needs more time.

Meanwhle Morata doing what he does and missing a 100% sitter in slapstick fashion
Replacing Costa with Morata probably one of the biggest unforced errors in modern football history

Both teams looking unconnected but it's understandable since both are playing with makeshift teams.
Only standout players for us are Keita and Shaqiri so far, both been great.

Random trivia time: Brentford's owner, a man named Matthew Benham, is a professional gambler and one of the early adopters of Expected Goals. Brentford have one of the smallest wage budgets in the Championship but frequently over-achieve because they're excellent at spotting undervalued talent using xG (basically any player whose actual output is less than their Expected Goals/Assists is considered "undervalued" but comes with a big upside).
Benham also used to own FC Midtjylland when they beat Van Gaal's Manchester United in the Europa League.

Interesting.
I remember reading back then that Midtylland was the quintessential moneyball team in Europena football

Also, it's really funny to see the trainwreck that is Moreno playing again, after a whole year of Robertson, and be reminded of how Liverpool fans had to deal with this accident waiting to happen for ages
