who is 'Plezuegueldo'

Pleguezuelo - aka Pleggy - is a Spanish CB we poached several years ago but is only making his first team debut tonight. Has 50+ appearances for our youth teams and has been out on loan the last two seasons.

He's playing tonight since we're rotating three fit first team centre backs atm. Mavropanos would play instead but he's injured.

Strong teams from both but I expected as much from Spurs as they're pushing for any sort of trophy and there are so many injuries that it's not really possible to put out a weak lineup (Sissoko-Winks midfield IS the weakened midfield although it's become the standard due to injury). No Kane, Davies at CB and Gazzaniga in goal actually makes this look like Poch put out a weaker lineup than Emery.

We've left out Leno, Bellerin and Mustafi, but we're otherwise full strength. Looks like Spurs basically did the same.

We can't really to lose after that Southampton defeat, even if the cup isn't that important.

Big miss from Mkhitaryan. Had plenty of time to pick a spot but tried to be too clever.

1-0 Spurs. Son. Had been coming, since most of the game was being played in our half. Our passing accuracy so far is 65%...

son always gets goals ffs. great player that will play now and then and be happy.

We ended the half strongly. Probably the better team by the end.

Difference has been the quality of finishing when presented with a 1v1 chance. No contest between Son and Mkhitaryan, unfortunately.
