1st Half

Arsenal started of with two changes (iwobi and monreal).

Introduction of iwobi was mainly due to his ability to track back and help arsenal in defence. It seems ramsey and torreria are not completely fit at the moment.

Arsenal started of playing with a high pressure defence however some of intelligent running from chelsea players caught arsenal sleeping many times.

Arsenal looked good going forward. The attacks especially the two misses were created when arsenal managed to hold onto the ball in the midfield.

Playing out from the back was not working because XHAKA did not make himself available to the defenders who often times looped the ball forward.

The team as a whole has not gelled yet. players were putting stray passes mainly due to chelsea putting pressure on the two midfielders and full backs.


Throughout the first half except for 10 mins chelsea was in complete control.

Ozil did not perform as expected from the central role. Iwobi was also poor loosing the ball multiple times. IMO ozil should be better of starting on the wings and miki should be playing in the center i.e his preferred position.

2nd Half.

Torreria was introduced however arsenal started to sit deep.
This was a mistake as chelsea completely dominated the game.

The strategy in the 2nd half was to play on the counter however, arsenal struggled to hold on to the ball.

People are saying bellerin was poor defensively this is mainly because he was running forward on every opportunity available as lapses of concentration are bound to happen is such circumstances.

Introduction of ramsey was to mainly to hold the ball better but it also didnot work out because ramsey instead of making himself available for simple pass was always trying to run forward.

If it would have been 2-2 i would have accepted the result and be happy with it.

Conclusion

Arsenal played better than man city and i except the teams performance to improve as players understand each others movement and get accustomed to the system emery is trying to play.

Ramsey should undoubtedly sold. Ozil warned to improve his performance.

Still positive that arsenal can improve under emery.
