Re: Julen Numptegui Suicide Watch
It certainly wasn't the right time for Lopetegui to sign for Real either
Was it so hard to wait for the WC to finish

I bet he couldnt wait to get sacked
Pre-season in Madrid is probably more important for him

I'm with you, especially when you factor in that he wanted it announced to avoid rumours and unrest among the players. Well played Cucklen

Re: Julen Numptegui Suicide Watch
To Nick, mole or anyone else interested. This was the text from Madrid fan #1, AS chief editor, Alfredo Relano before even the press conference. I'll translate some key phrases.
"This Madrid produces antimadridismo
The day that was gonna be about Griezmann's indecision broke all predictions: Madrid announced that Lopetegi is signed for 3 years. [...] His rule with the team can't be the same. His dedication can't be the same either.
Frankly, the news felt like a bullet. [...] The leader of the campaign care more about something else and signs for Madrid. He has resolved his problems with the cost of passing them to the NT, that is the same as passing them to all the fans in the country.
Florentino is well in his rights to do what he did. [...] That was of going through life, stepping over everything that is not self-interest strikes profound disagreement in me. Whichever way this ends, it started really bad."
https://as.com/opinion/2018/06/12/portada/1528831382_624975.html
It was done in the worst way possible for Spain.

Re: Julen Numptegui Suicide Watch
Relano is never happy about anything Madrid does. I dont know where his Madridista is at but he is always somehow offended by something.
So yeah, the way things went down are not good, i have said this before. But the decision they made today just catapulted the situation to a new level.
Again, Rubiales, new president, did it for himself only. He did not care about what the players thought or what made sense. i am gonna redo my brackets i thought Morocco would take out portugal but it's Spain they will skewer

Bolded part is 100% true, it's why Spain had zero choice.

Right, let's make this about Rubiales the RFEF president and neglect all the other glaring suspects

And of course, it's daft on Madrid's and Lopetegui's part to announce the deal just before the World Cup. I don't know why they did that.
Apparently, Loptegui told the Madrid players in the team and one non Madrid player got wind of it so he announced it officially before it got leaked.
So yeah, blame Pique.

Would have been a first or 2nd round anyway tbh, they are massively overrated on this forum.
People for some reason just conveniently forget they've been crap the last two tournaments.

Have to agree but i feel this 'drama' before the world cup may just somehow push them to perform better, you never know tbh

If they finished 1st in their group they'd surely make the quarters where they'd most likely get Argentina. So, semis really was not that farfetched.
jfc everything's falling in place for Messi to win the World Cup.

Re: Julen Numptegui Suicide Watch
Will they finish 1st now ?
Portugal would be looking to capitalise on their current situation. I mean this sacking happened just a day before their opening match. Surely would reduce the morale in the squad by quite a bit.
If they knick a win in their opening game, it could make things really interesting in that group

Spain is still gonna dominate Portugal and their group. These players know exactly what to do and they are being managed by the same coaching team.

I know to be the only one in the world to think it , but I expect Morocco to go on in place of Portugal . Spain to pass as 1st even without coach

Re: Julen Numptegui Suicide Watch
So the president of Spain's FA basically said "*bleep* sporting reasons, I want my pride back!" and people are ok with it?

There seems to be some confusion.
Its actually like this:
So Lopetegui basically said "*bleep* sporting reasons, and people are ok with it?
Sack Lopetegui in my opinion
