To the shock of nobody, Neymar misses an important game as he's "injured" for the CL game this week.

The guy is mostly absent and has been for the past 4 years. Yet, people who don't watch PSG think he's the best player on the team etc. when he is absolutely not. Most talented? Sure. But he's literally done nothing with it.

Everyone on top teams plays 50+ games a season. So he literally only plays half a season and mostly never when it counts.

To me, he's frankly been a flop at PSG.

He's not fully committed to PSG... Every summer since leaving he wanted to return to Barca, realizing his monumental mistake of wishing to be the main man which in hindsight was not what he should've pursued at the cost of parting ways with Messi and essentially wasting his prime.

To me, it's his frustration that he hasn't been able to assert his will and dominate as he expected. He also thought he would get superstar refereeing, and that hasn't happened. It's also that people in France honestly don't like him very much due to his behavior on and off the pitch... so he doesn't feel loved.

The guy is a mental midget. As a result, he's lost his mental edge. He wanted to leave because there is no pampering in Ligue 1 and people aren't going to adore you just because you play football.

He's not popular and I honestly don't think he's able to compete regularly physically. At best right now, he's a part-time player and he's fine with that apparently.

It's one thing to leave because you've dominated the league and there's nothing left here (like Mbappe and Ibra)... it's another because you've capitulated competitively.

If thats true though how is PSG putting up with it and allowing it? As in the management. I would have thought hes injured or whatever instead of just missing games whenever he likes to? Maybe going forward clubs should insert some clause into a contract with the superstars so that these behaviour will be punished or something.

PSG is a retirement home for big names. they have money but the mentality is as of a small club.

Nobody was willing to pay Ramos the salary he wanted considering his age and injuries. PSG signed him just because he has a big name. that's their way of showing how big they are.

Look at Mbappe situation. for them it's a dick measuring contest lol that's why they are so butthurt. big clubs don't act like that.

I was watching some Neymar comps from a few seasons ago and I shook my head in disbelief.

He should be the best player in the world right now, but instead, he's the injury-prone 3rd wheel of MNM.

I can't help but think some of his injuries have to do with his playing style. It's not like Neymar is going down in training from muscle injuries. They're mainly impact injuries that he gets during the games. A lot of them involve him needlessly overplaying with the ball instead of passing it and then getting kicked as a result.

It's like he unlearned all the positive things he learned at Barca and is doing the shit he did at Santos. Needless overplaying with the ball instead of playing one or two touches. The most annoying one is when he feels the need to run with the ball in his own half with only one player harrying him just so he can fish for a foul which a lot of the French refs don't even give half the time.

If he got out of France and played for a coach who could have gotten rid of those habits he wouldn't be as injury prone as he is now.

Understand the argument, but with Messi around nobody has a chance, n Mbappe is the new no.1 coming up very soon by the looks of things. Hes just decisive. When u have the real cutting edge in terms of goal scoring n creating chances as well as being so good, u edge out the likes of Neymar who has those, but a bit less so in terms of goals especially.

Mbappe performs in thesame league and he is regarded as one of the best in the world same as Lewandowski in the bundesliga.

He was getting blown up by dribbling too much... cause for a lot of his injuries. He's learned (and so has Messi btw; I wonder if Messi gave him the tip) that, in Ligue 1, release the ball quickly, run into space because they play you so tight, and then get a return pass with the defender on his heels.

Neymar and Messi are now destroying guys that are playing them too aggressively by getting rid of the ball much faster.

Yeah a few posts above I mentioned how a lot of his injuries came from him doing that stupid thing where he’d keep holding on to the ball while the opponent kicks his foot repeatedly.

Seems like he removed that dumb shit from his game (about time). I think he has lost some 1v1 ability though. Messi dribbles double the amount he does now at 35. Messi has 4 dribbles per game in Ligue 1 this season while Neymar has 2.
