Neymar signs a new contract with Santos

RT @snap_kaka_pop Breaking - Neymar has signed a new contract at #Santos. Gets a 50% pay rise, and looks like staying until after 2014 WC.

The club have financed the deal through a partnership with Banco do Brasil, who will seek to benefit from Neymar's growing fame in the run-up to the 2014 tournament. Neymar, already the best-paid player at the Vila Belmiro, stands to benefit from a wage rise of around 50%. His agent, Wagner Ribeiro, declared himself satisfied with the news; "It's great for Santos [to keep] a player that makes the fans so happy."

The news, of course, will disappoint Real Madrid and Barcelona, both of whom have expressed significant interest in the player over the last year. They, however, will have to wait: Neymar will continue to enchant Brazilian football fans for some time yet.

Smart move. Looks like he's really listening to his agent.

I personally think that if he wants to stay in brazil till 2014, then it's a very dumb decision. He has outgrown that league already, Staying home wont help him reach new heights imo.

neymar plays on the left no??? if he were to sign he wouldve been a utility player when ronaldo got rested etc, now hazard is a right winger, we have got callejon for that....and goetze we have an overcrowded midfield as it is lol

Surprised by this decision. Wrong move by Neymar. Staying in Brazil will only hinder his devolopment but in the end his choice and it will be his loss.

Maybe this means we will go for Hazard instead.

He will still join Madrid, how many players have done exactly the same and left the following summer?
