Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur

I think everyone knows Tottenham cannot win this game. It's just banter.

woah there cowboy
Spurs just outplayed Madrid over two games, of course they can beat a less than impressive Juventus team
Eriksen should be fully out of his slump by then
for me it's a 50/50 game, I wouldn't be shocked if Spurs win both games comfortably and vice versa

That Fulham match... irrelevant bs from 7 years ago
We beat City twice in 2015/2016
Obviously it's mostly insecure Premier League fans who give importance to Europa League results

Heard some very believable rumours about Eriksen leaving Spurs in the winter.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs should have Alderweireld and Wanyama back by then, not to mention Rose is gaining fitness and Lamela will be fully fit to start games or contribute in the tie by then.
It's a much different (for the better) team that will be facing Juventus than the broken Spurs teams that took 4 of 6 points against Madrid.*
Obviously Juve are the favorites but banter aside I see no reason to think Spurs can't make it a competitive tie at least.
*there will likely be other injuries tbh, but no way to predict that.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
This tie largely depends on our injuries and form
Like I said , Allegri's Juve usually peak around Feb-March but 1 or 2 bad injuries could easily derail our progress. We should not be judged on how we are playing right now. Our lineups and formation don't remain constant all the time.
Last year we switched to 4-2-3-1 around Dec-Jan where Allegri found a way to incorporate all our best players. It was key in Juve reaching the final. This year, maybe 4-3-3 is the way to go. Our new signings are finally clicking and hope we find continuity from here on.

Even if we played today I would be confident about progressing, in February likely more so. Fully expect Spurs to make this complicated and bring a good tie with tense moments though. It won't be easy.

If Jjuve lose this tie, S better leave permanently. Take Rincon and Warrior with him too. Luca could stay though.

He says after his team got smashed by Spurs . Don't worry though, we won't lose like Madrid did.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
If your hopes of beating Juve are hanging solely by the thread of your victory against Madrid in the group stage then you might have problems down the road.
Beating this Madrid side is in no way, shape or form an indicator of how strong you are. Newly promoted sides have done it in Spain for god's sake.
As for the tie Juve-Spurs, it seems 50-50 to me. It could go either way.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
You guys lost twice. Once to Girona, once to Betis (who always play Madrid hard). These shock results have happened to stronger Madrid sides, and in general (United lost to Huddersfield...).
Of course it means something to beat the 2x defending champions lol.
Can someone tell me why Madrid fans are acting like they're a lower mid table La Liga side? Have some self respect.
Ok another topic: to all my Juventini brothers, I wish for healthy teams and a cracking tie. Nothing but love

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
I knew we were getting an English side. I think we match up decently with Tottenham, should be a good match.
I'd say we have to be favoured but its about 60-40 for me.
Of course Tottenham beating Real Madrid in the group is a big deal, but outside of the group it's not demonstrative of much else but that they should be taken seriously.
The knockout rounds are about match ups, contrasts of styles and individuals. Juve's European form this season has been quite dire, in a somewhat tricky group albeit.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
I doubt we'll lose to spurs but definitely on the Allegri out train if we do
Because if we do lose, it's because we're yet to hit form, and I don't want any of this "We'll pick up in March" crap you shouldn't need to rely on that happening. Too much rotation, we need to find our best XI or damn close to it and let them gel. It's not pre-season ffs.
