Re: La Liga Discussion 2017/18 part 3
I can't recall a time since i started following football seriously that Madrid have lost this many games in half a season. It feels surreal

Literally every big team strengthened in January, even those which already spent millions and millions in the summer. Yet Madrid are the quietest team in the transfer market despite being in need the most
Zidane doesn't want anybody to come. He repeatedly said so himself. That's the only reason Madrid has been quieter than death in the last two transfer windows.
Florentino used to buy Galacticos left and right, but he has completely changed ever since Zidane came to power. He listens to him in pretty much everything.
It's no coincidence that Madrid haven't made any major signings with Zidane in charge. He's blocking everything with the freedom and power Florentino gave him.
I bet Flo bangs his head against the wall every night for listening to Zidane.

lol we play valencia this weekend. let this be a lesson that we can't just sign scrubs to make starters comfortable. we will not sign anyone in the winter, we have to take the whoopings and learn from them and find a middle ground. not just signing galacticos and not just signing scrubs still in diapers cos they beast for osasuna and the likes

That does sound like the type of advice Zidane would give

Re: La Liga Discussion 2017/18 part 3
let's be real here, no january could save this team, none. we are dealing with too much of a lack of preparation, and lack of coaching. you can't run a team on motivation for 3 years, this is what we are facing now.
we trusted a mediocre castilla coach with an amateurish staff made up of his childhood friends to lead madrid. thankfully the best european player in 25 years and one of the better squad ever pulled through and delivered in big moments.
zidane is lucky he coached us, if i was him i would go coach this stupidly star studded france team and then retire. If he tries to do much else, it wont end well. i guess he could also dominate with PSG since they have Nerman and 0 competition.

Zidane is that lucky noob in highschool who beat all the veterans in poker and half your crew thought he was the shit. Exposed catastrophically thereafter once his luck ran out.The Demon of Carthage wrote:Zidane doesn't want anybody to come. He repeatedly said so himself. Why is everyone acting like saying no one is needed actually means he feels that way? Obviously if he had that opinion he would keep it to himself, the last thing he needs is a player underperforming because Zidane said he wanted to replace him to the entire world

Intrigued to see how Madrid will rebuild. Hazard might be realistic due to his contract situation but even then he won't cost any less than something like € 150M. After that you can forget about Kane. As if Spurs will accept any less than € 200M. He is English, the Premier League poster boy, Tottenham homegrown and his contract ends in 2022. Good luck.
And where does Ronaldo go if he goes? No club in the world would pay his wages right now. He won't work with Mourinho again who called him "not the real Ronaldo", Pep will not want him and PSG have Neymar and Mbappe. After that no one can afford his wages, nevermind a semi-excessive transfer fee on top of that.

Shouldn't Ronaldo be retiring at Madrid ideally?
Never fully understood his status among the club legends of RM.
He's done enough to be considered in top 5 RM players of all time.
Wouldn't Madrid want him to retire with them?

It also doesn't make sense to sign anyone if Zidane doesn't have the balls to really bench anyone out of our starting XI (only really Isco and he's not technically a starter)
He isn't going to tweak our front three, midfield, or back 4. He just won't.

If Zidane doesn’t have the balls to openly say he needs players he is stupid.
Also this is Papa Flo we’re talking about. He doesn’t mind spending on players

Bollocks. ManU don't need any commercial exposure, they are topping the recent Deloitte Money League by far despite being shit on the pitch for several years now and despite a weak Sterling Pound. Also Ronaldo sold his image rights to Peter Lim as far as I know and there is no way a has been on something like 50 million a year gross will generate any sort of money for a club. Mourinho hates him as well and Mourinho isn't the type of coach to get bullied by executives buying players over his head.
PSG would have done it a few years ago but not now with Neymar there.

it's not that he doesn't have the balls he is committed a 100% to those guys, after all they delivered 2 CLs for him. So this is a choice he is not victim of his situationFalcaoPunch wrote:It also doesn't make sense to sign anyone if Zidane doesn't have the balls to really bench anyone out of our starting XI (only really Isco and he's not technically a starter)

Re: La Liga Discussion 2017/18 part 3
look I have never seen a rich club not trying to make more money. Peter Lim only has 50% of his image rights, we have the rest as long as he plays for us.Hapless_Hans wrote:futbol wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:Man Yoo and PSG would pay for commercial and exposure value, of course they would pay.

But this is not the only way to make money. A player like CR allows you to negotiate bigger deals with sponsors, that's where the real money is. If Chevrolet was paying 50 mil before United can now tell them to renegotiate that deal because they havev CR7 now. If they negotiate a new commercial deal instead of being paid the normal 20 mil market rate they ask for a premium because of CR. That's how it works.
Besides CR and mou are ok. If you think they haven't mended their rrlationship already lol

Our players delivered 2 back to back CL. Simply amazing.
These very same players have dropped form significantly since late august/early september.
As a coach he has not reacted to the situation all the while keeping the same scheme and setup week in and week out.
He doesn't have the balls to bench players and attempt something new. Now don't get me wrong our bench wouldn't be our savior but I would have liked to see some initiative and reaction from him to try something new in hopes of bettering our situation.
