I'm not particularly surprised tbh, how many times have they won it since Ronaldo has been there? Like twice? It's more of a surprise when they win it.

Not saying they won't mind as it's only September but I'd always consider Barcelona the favourite when Messi is there even if I believe in Madrid more for the CL.

Considering their history when Messi has been there I don't particularly get why this would be surprising, even last year when you could make the argument Barca were meh they lost it by just 3 points.

Only refs can beat Messi. Both Real's Ligas were gifted by refs, apparently Perez haven't payed this season yet. Even Atletico won liga on the last game by Messi onside goal wrongfully called offside. Maybe refs got scared of what comes in the afterlife when you do unjust stuff day in day out and destroy the holy sport.

What's shambolic about it? Barca have a very proper manager, Messi is off to a flying start. Paulinho is already a better signing that Andre Gomes. Semedo has greatly improved the right back position.

Messi may slow down a bit goal scoring wise but Suarez will also pick up.

Whatever is going on with the club hierarchy is unrelated.

I don't think it's banter at all. Its a big ego out of the team. Don't get me wrong, Neymar is a super talented player but Messi is the most talented player of all time. They got together fine on the field but I've watched just about every Barca game this season and I prefer this way.

Maybe it's the Valverde factor more than the Neymarketing effect but Neymar is a prick quite frankly. He's ruining Ligue 1 but even this stuff with Cavani, people say it's exaggerated but it's not. The moment they're not completely outclassing this opponent, they crumble mentally.

You mean an all time great forward looks better when he doesn't have to share the ball between himself and two other superstars? I'm shocked.

There's a reason why 3 ball dominant forwards has rarely even been tried in football, with that said I do think Neymar's loss will be most shown in big games and the complaints that Messi didn't have enough help pre Neymar and Suarez will come up again.

If we fail in big games it will be because of our central midfield, not because of our lack of firepower. If Suarez gets back into form which I'm sure he will it's completely different than having Pedro and Sanchez on the flanks or Fabregas walking around like a lost lamb out on the pitch. Messi, Suarez and Dempelé is more than enough firepower for all purposes.

Last season Bale and Benzema contributed next to nothing for Madrid. Ronaldo and Ramos scored all their important goals. To think that we would miss something attacking-wise with Messi, Suarez and Dempelé upfront would be insane.

I was working under the assumption Suarez form doesn't pick up and Dembele is out for as long as reported tbf.

I agree that if they are there when it matters and performing then firepower won't be an issue.

As one of Neymar's biggest fans, I have to say though, Alba is playing much better. Neymar never passed to him Weird, he always had a good link with Marcelo on the NT. Maybe it was just Lucho being inept and not utilizing Alba to his main strength.

But the real test is when they will face big teams like Madrid, Juve, PSG. So lets calm down on Neymarketing leaving blessing in disguise narrative for now.

I wanna think this is premature but 7 point lead in La Liga, where draws are losses and losses are firings in the making, is a pretty tall order. Especially when Barcelona has always been consistent in La Liga.
