I dont think RM depends on their forwards as much as other team. Of course it is important for Ronaldo to be in top form but we have been playing with a crooked frontline for so long anyone who comes in and scores over 17 goals and isn't perma injured is good enough. Of course my view will change when Ronaldo leaves because I think we'll need to replace him adequately and wether Morata can lead our line then is anyone's guess. As for now anyone with 2 legs is better than what we have starting for us. We are about to win the league and are within a touching distance of the CL final and our starting striker has contributed to around 14 goals of the 100 something goals we have scored in all competitions this season.

As for the weaknesses you mentioned he still has some of them like not being a clinical finisher and being abit of a moaner but he offers us alot in attack including being able to play with his back to goal, being technical and scoring goals

I don't doubt Morata's ability(of course we do know a lot about his ability and the brillant moments he provided for us) but I only question his mentality when the going gets tough for him which was evident in the way he sulked on the pitch for long periods.

In a normal world Morata is a 20m at best player.

Even 40m i'd have real concerns about.

Morata is f mediocre. Didn't Chicharito score some 7 goals in 7 starts for Real Madrid and they finished 3rd that year.

Even in our current position, I would be disappointed if we signed him as our main striker (let alone for 50m or whatever his price apparently is).

Real Madrid have some amazing subs no doubt, but Morata is not one of them.

@GLS, Strikers are hard to come by. The best ones are in their 30th or very late 20th.

The only proven ones I can think of are Belotti, Lacazette, Morata, Kane, Griezmann and Lukaku. Rashford, Mbappe, Jesus still have some way to go imo

As you can probably see the striker market is very thin. Anyone who moves will fetch alot. It's just a matter of how desperate the club is. I know for eg if the world was flat and we decided to do business with Atleti they wouldn't hesitate to drop close to a 100mill on Morata because they've been desperqte to get him for years. Chelsea would probably do the same for Lukaku etc etc

I don't think anyone bar Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Pipita and Neymar is worth anywhere close to 80mill. Some of the fees players go for today is exorbitant. 40mill for Morata would probably be the correct value for what he's done so far in his career

That's not a reason to overspend on a player who has never proven he could even get you 15 league goals a season lol.

Would rather take a chance on an unknown commodity, develop my own, or even change my tactics.

Nick, I believe you are wrong with Benz. Morata is a non starter in discussions re Mbappe. He is already one foot in Chelsea. Benz is just a cancer at this point. He was extremely selfish and ineffective yesterday. He won't support Mbappe only stand in his way. Best to get rid of Benz and Bale, play Mbappe and Ronaldo with Usco / Asensio. What we will need is a good backup forward.

i like Isco a lot but his competition is still Luka Modric and Kroos, not BBC. and i would not rely on Asensio week in and week out to win games in la liga, he is not ready yet.

Bale was by far our best player in the first half of the year till he got injured, he is still great. no need to sell him for now. None of the BBC will go

although if we are selling Bale, Woodward might just pay us 200 millions

the plan is to sell morata, however, i think morata has done very well to up his stock which is good for us if we want to sell. he hasn't had the best of minutes, but he's been able to put good numbers for the minutes he's had. i usually complain about players being overpriced, but i'm always happy if we're the ones overcharging....

i mean we've been the most generous club over the years when it comes to selling players, cos we've been so desperate for the players to leave we sell them for peanuts only for them to beast elsewhere. wasn't until the ozil and higuain moves we started being better at selling players (Add robinho to city too)

as for mbappe, i don't know. every year there's always some "reliable" source listing out the people we want, and a bunch of times they're wrong. i do think morata will go primarily because, he wants to, and feels regardless of goals he won't get the respect he wants here to hold a starting spot

what are you guys talking about, i swear if Madrid was open to sell Bale (and Man utd ask us EVERY SUMMER since we landed him), they would pay at least 150 mil to sign him. They had already offered 120 mil to SPurs when we got him, they are willing to spend, and they have money.

i doubt florentino is foolish enough to sell him for 50m. old school florentino, yes, but not this one. even if bale was injured for the whole season, 50m would be downright foolish especially since he's not even 30 yet, still under contract, and doesn't have a direct replacement yet...very different from the kaka scenario
