I'm a Madrid fan but it has to be said.

Whatever Flo is doing right now, is honestly disgusting and disrespectful to people in poverty and countrys in wars. Spending 80 million for example, for a player to just ride the bench is not acceptable and the biggest shame of it is that we will see the same thing being repeated next season as long as Florentino is the president of Madrid.

Same goes to all this sheik clubs... These sheiks should be helping Palestine or people in the middle east in need of help and all they focus their money on is to improve their Ultimate Team... Disgusting. You have ISIS right now killing people in the middle east and these sheiks feel so safe they rather spend 100+ million on football players instead of weapons to defend their people and families.

I'm disgusted by football. No player should exceed 20 million. There should be rules to limit their spending. I'd even go as far as force clubs to give majority of their income to philantrophy/improve football education... But that's just wishful thinking and even I know that will never happen.

Well naturally I agree, football was a lot more exciting for me in the 90s to early 00s period when it was a lot easier for different teams to challenge.

Maybe I'm biased because we haven't had success since then due to a mixture of idiotic decision making, lack of ambition and the addition of multi billionaire owners to the sport which have taken away from the balance and competitive nature of the sport imo.

Yes, if we focus only on the formation of a super elite in football, then yeah i agree. It was more fun when the budget between teams wasnt as wide as it is today. But madrid are on top so i aint gonna complain.

But you also have to be realistic and the formation of a super elite is something that's true in almost every sports. i can only think of maybe the NFL where the gap between teams is much closer than it is in nba, footy, formula 1, tennis etc...

The watchers/people of football need to have more influence. The cancer of this sport is really that FIFA is the one who decides it all. Football would have been better if it had a democracy system integrated to it where people who watch the sport/ex players decide changes and rules to the game.

You should probably go to school. So the sheiks should invest in weapons and start a war in their home countries? What kind of logic is that? Real Madrid buys players, and create an amazing revenue do to their purchases and overall success. Real Madrid uses a lot of their wealth to build schools all over the world, which is how you help foreign countries. Not by weapons and war, but by educations and unity. If you seriously think the money Florentino has spent would have any impact on the world, you're fooling yourself. Warfare is the biggest waste of money there is. USA has like a budget of $1 trillion, which could make a difference opposes to the money in football. A fair trade deal for other countries good would also be a great start.
