Wonder if Nakamura would be better off as a heel. Basically do the rockstar gimmick but in a cocky show off manner with attitude.

Besides he gets too positive reaction to be one, you had everyone saying AJ had to turn because of fan reaction how do you expect Nakamura to stay as a heel considering the fan reaction he already gets?

He'd still be over if they turned him into a cool heel imo. Would kinda be a waste if all he ever did was come out doing his entrance forever. His character has the potential to be a goat level top guy. Just need to give it more depth imo.

As a heel he could be an eccentric weird badass. Could have backstage segments where he tortures people in a crazy manner etc. I mean if he's not going to turn heel, then at the very least he should develop more of an attitude / be more cocky. I'd take that over him being a lovable dancing guy, which is what he is now.

Yeh I think he said before one of the reasons why SD went live was due to the low ratings. The SD ratings right now are the same as they were before the brand split.

RAW ratings have gradually been falling year after year. Can't see the brand split lasting too long at this rate. Both shows need as much star power as they can get.

Wouldn't be surprised if Russo was hired to improve the ratings again.

The indies have nothing to do with it lol, i like some of them and i have no interest in watching atm.

Said it a thousand times but the tv ratings are a mixture of horrendous direction from the writers and Vince and the fact there is a lot more options for people to watch.

TV was terrible back in the attitude era, to prove my point WWF had a roster of Nash, Hall, Taker, HBK, Bret Hart, The Rock , Steve Austin and so many others and the tv ratings were historically bad pre attitude era.

It changed because the direction of the company changed, not because they suddenly got more talented.

There's just only so much you can if the writing and creative team is bad, this won't change either because WWE make money every year despite the TV ratings are deluded to thinking it's ok because of this.

I'm going to stop following it again soon tbh, no point debating and arguing about something which isn't going to change.

If there was no smark era, we'd probably see more stuff like Mahal/Orton, Bray/Miz, Reigns/Strowman etc. The ratings would be similar to what they are now imo.

The issue with the smark era is that they're trying to appeal to a group of fans who going to watch the product no matter what. That's why they're hardcore fans. Which is why there's no point in trying to appeal to them. When I say smark era, I mean the idea and movement behind it. Signing regular plain guys with great workrate to deliver 5* matches, NXT etc.

I'm sure there's a lot of indy guys out there who are capable of becoming top guys in the WWE with good writing and character development.

Instead they need to after the fans that are no longer watching. The casual mainstream audience. Only way to attract them is through great characters, storylines and everything 'sports entertainment'.

So basically end the smark era, go after casual fans and improve creative imo.

BAH GAWD Russo return confirmed. Called Vince.

Vince Russo says he reached out to Vince McMahon over the last week about contributing to the WWE product again, and he said McMahon got back to him.

Often outspoken, Russo has criticized the current WWE product for years. According to Russo, the exchange between the two was brief.

"I am still a wrestling fan at heart, going back to when I was 10, 11 years old. I hate today's product. To me, it's not professional wrestling,".Russo said.."I don't want to be the guy critiquing the problem without saying 'Here's my olive branch, I think I can help you as the numbers go down every week.' I didn't use the word help. You don't tell Vince McMahon he needs help. I said 'if you want me to contribute, I'd love to once again contribute.'"

When asked if McMahon seemed open to the idea, or receptive, Russo indicated that McMahon isn't a big talker -- with him at least..

"Vince never seems receptive. His response is always a couple of words. He's not that guy. He's the same guy that told me I could get a nanny (to raise) your kids," said Russo.

Yea seemed a decent match, Balor vs Joe vs Wyatt was good too. Balor has been solid so far!

Bliss' segment was pathetic, she can't wrestle well & now had a terrible segment.

The best part was Goldust's promo. One of the greatest & under-rated characters in WWE history. What a character he is & what a fantastic mic worker & character worker he is !

Like i said before, the build he was below multiple people so why would that suddenly change when he's champion lol.

It's obvious how they really feel, it's the same as when Kevin Owens was champion and Reigns opened and closed every show.

Quite obvious who they truly felt the main event talent was, it's the same here and unless something drastically changes he's going to be seen that way.

Not like his segments are so *bleep* hot that they have to change it either.

I want Ambrose to turn heel as much as the next person, but at the same time I want him to be the top heel of the company, and that probably won't happen until Summerslam 2018, at the earliest.

Raw this Monday posted a 1.75 rating, a record low for 2017. This is a 20% drop from the rating for last year's Memorial Day show. To put it in further perspective, Dave Meltzer reports that only one episode of WCW Nitro ever did a worse rating than this show.
