There was a time where I thought EA wasn't so bad, the last year or so has made me flip that position.

They are absolutely scum, luckily Star Wars is the only thing they do that interests me.

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.
As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.
We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.
Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.

Yea...so does it also provide players with a sense of pride when they buy those characters instead lol?

Tbf RG and I been saying this but you can't straight up buy Vader etc etc.

The issue people have is it apparently takes a stupid amount of time to grind.

Not because of anything money related because you can't get them in loot boxes.

That's the thing. They are making this a massive grind so that people are forced to start putting money in to try and get those characters faster instead. It's not about buying Vader outright, it's more about paying extra at all (credits) for characters that were available with the game in BF1 and should not be locked for any reason.

You can't though, Heroes are only available through currency you get through playing the game.

It doesn't matter how much you spend you won't get any closer to unlocking Vader.

Sick of people misrepresenting my position tbh.

I'm not defending the Hero requirements, I'm not defending the micro transactions etc etc.

I'm defending the idea that it's pay to win because it isn't, actually play the game and you'll see that.

Mainly because the Internet doesn't seem to know what pay to win means anymore, it's a word which has lost all meaning.

Making games great comes from regular tuning. As one example, today we’re making a substantial change based on what we’ve seen during the Play First trial. There’s been a lot of discussion around the amount of in-game credits (and time) it takes to unlock some of our heroes, especially Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning. We used data from the beta to help set those levels, but it’s clear that more changes were needed.

So, we’re reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits. Based on what we’ve seen in the trial, this amount will make earning these heroes an achievement, but one that will be accessible for all players.

For reference Vader alone was 60,000 before. Based on beta numbers i imagine that will be quite easy to obtain.

Oh i agree completely, i said in my original post that the heroes stuff was complete bullshit.

Only thing i'm defending is the idea that the game is pay to win and gave reasons already why.

Will never happen. Kids with parents's credit cards plague FUT and pay to win has been norm for years. Same with GTA and *bleep* shark cards.

It's mainly because most FIFA players don't give a shit about Clubs sadly.

If the whole community banded to together and started complaining on reddit like with Battlefront i'm sure it would change.
