Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Half way through it and it's definitely not at Breaking Brad's level.... Not even close. Lacks the same menace.
Despite that, a good show that will very likely get better and better.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Finished Ozark some time ago, GOAT series. Not really comparable to Breaking Bad for a number of reasons.
The first being, he was very much already bad as the show commenced

Started watching the Handmaid's Tale. It is so creepy and disturbing, yet I can't watch away. I think Moss has a lock of best female lead performance of the year.

Master of None season 2 blew the season 1 out of the water.
New York I Love You and the dating episode were masterpieces.

Just finished watching Rectify, definitly one of the best shows i have ever seen.
I am not sure if it is suited for many here, but if you are looking for something subtle, realistic, deep, and complex then give this show a try. Created by Sundance channel and available on Netflix.

Been meaning to watch Rectify for quite some time.
Anyway I finished GLOW on Netflix. I felt bored around the start but its mad entertaining. Amazing cast and really funny. Marc Marron is the definite highlight of it. Shoutout to the Russian old guy too

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Went through this thread and compiled a list of shows-to-watch.
Finished Atlanta. Hilarious and fresh. Cool 8/10 first season. Looking forward to more. Really admire Donald Glover's vision.
Watched the first episode of Vice Principals. F*****g hilarious. Had a good laugh at Walton Goggins (whom I loved in Justified) and Danny McBride going back at each other, rapid fire style. And all of this in a school setting with HBO's lack of restrictions. The trailer made it seem lame but I enjoyed the first episode.
Probably gonna start Eastbound and Down first because it's over and that way I've seen Goggins and McBridge in their best roles before watching them together.

From Vice Principals:
Lee: I can't believe you have a nemesis named Ray. What a stupid f*cking name.
Shoutout to Justified

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Watched Ozark season 1, was good imo. A mix of BB/Justified/Fargo in terms of story/style/setting. Not on the level of BB, but still a solid show.
- Spoiler:
- Would love to seem them bring in Gus as next seasons top heel.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Ozark's first ep was one of the best I've seen in a long time. if it maintains that quality it could be one of the best shows of the last few years. This may be able to scratch the itch Breaking Bad fans have had the last few years. Hope it remains quality.
Edit: Just seen I'm late to the party and a bunch of you have already watched it

AFTV is the exception to this.
But yes, TV is a bit depressing when you look at all the past GOAT shows. Now most shows have you mildly interested at best waiting for the big moments.
Narcos was GOAT though but the problem with Netflix full releases is that after a Week or so depending on your willpower they're done for a Year.

The Deuce is apparently also really good.
I have loved TV this year. Master of None and Leftovers some of my all time favourite seasons.

Just watched it a couple weeks ago. Hilarious stuff. Apparently this is going to be the last season as well. Sad!
